Default Sliding bobber (pic)

Over the years I have struggled with by tuff line groving those sheep plastic stics you put through the bobber to guide your line or the little pins. For me there is nothing more frustrating that havine your line not feet through the bobber to the bobber stop because a groove is pinching my line. In aaddition too, if I am using lighter weight the friction through the small hole takes it forwever to feed. I friend of mine gave me the idea, however he used something different. I looked around in HD and found "Crimp Splice Caps" made out of brass instead of metal.

A you can see one end is fluted so there is nop worry of your line scraping on a rough surface.

I tested them last weekend all day on both momo and tuff. Had no efeect on either line what so ever.

Almost ever cast the gear was down in a slipt second. Even the times it did feed it took a second or two.

No more waiting for your bait to be all the way down and you have lready gone half way through the drift.

Hey that looks familiar; have I seen this before????
I can vouch for this invention, I used westcoast floats last weekend and FA used his bobbers. The man did'nt catch but those things sure seemed to work quite well. I have this problem too and if I were one who makes his own folats this idea is a keeper!!! I am just shocked that he let the cat out of the bag!!

I do make my own floats, out of 1 inch rod backing. It can be cut halfway down the length on one side, put a heavier plastic straw like in side and glue with contact cement. 6" is an ideal length for one ounce. The "straw" I was talking about can be purchased at a model airplain shop, asking for the cable race tubing. It comes in 3 foot lengths. Cut to fit and you have about $.12 invested per bobber. Enjoy

I drill out a wine cork and use a bright golf tee as a stopper. Works great for most jigs I use.

One method to cancel out the tuff line cuts in the plastic float (bobber) pegs is to replace the pegs with an aluminin rivet. Pull the nail portion out of the rivet and use the flaired end as the new float peg. Rivets come in various metals so pick what works for you. Try it and see what you think.
