Default Kwick fish question

Hi, i'm new at backtrolling with kfish. do you run them behind a jet diver or rig them directly to your line? I'm floating the wilson this week for the first time and would apreciate the info!

thank you,
chris

Try the jetdiver. That is what works for us. Good luck

It all depends on the type of water you are fishing. Mostly meaning depth. I try to flatline when ever possible. (just the plug) A properly tuned Kwikfish will dive about 12 feet. Which for most stretches on coastal river is plenty. The holes that are deeper you need to get them down. Divers work well at times but they tend to wander back and forth dragging the lure with them. If the water is deeper than the ability of the plug I like to use lead. It is like back bouncing, but just get it to the bottom and hold it still. Check and find the bottom every now and then to make sure you are there. The right amount of lead will put your line at a 45 degree angle

Key is to be verstatile, just the other day I ran a strech a river that proved just that. I went through a hole that I figured had to have fish. Long story short I went through the hole 6 times before we got them to bite. It ended up Kwikfish on short droppers with lead. And I had gone through it twice with diver and Kwikfish.

Good Luck

we always rig our dropper/diver on a slider also just in case it gets tangled in the net on an attempt to net the fish and the fish decides to make another run it can take line without ripping the net from your hand or breaking the line.

I'm with Travis.I flatline about 85% of the time,I get more hookups this way.And if we get to a hole that is on the deep We will use led on two and flatline one, might get some suspended fish.

As others said, I also mainline it, however, where I know there are deep holes I'll run a diver or a dropper (1-3 ounces), both work well.
