drifted from mill creek to salmon berry this week and there was a log jam bout half way from the bank colapseing and some overhanging trees that if your not careful the current will take you right into. and there is one tree down across the river that you have to go to the left on about the old train tressel. have a good time

Is there any bright chinook still around down low? Anyone know? If not I might get out Friday and try it, as ive never steelhead fished on the Alsea.

Default Alsea drift?

I'm hoping to drift the Alsea on Sunday, I haven't drifted the Alsea but I have bank fished it quite a bit, can anyone offer some thoughts on put ins and take outs? Looking for a fairly long drift if possible. Also, does anyone know if there are any hazards to be aware of?
Thanks in advance,
-goodkarma

I've caught bright chinook well into december on the alsea, always below 5 rivers. Right now there is a lot of water down there but its dropping. Most of them will definitely be colored up now though but if you can find a bit you can wade through those
