Tie Master... Ready... Set....
I have a Tie Master to give away this morning.
Darn, these things are handy. Especially when the mornings are so cold that your hands won't work!
OK, if you want to win one, here is how:
Be the first back here to post the correct answer to the question below. If you have won in the last month, give someone else a try. Any edited answers will be disqualified.
Here it is!!!
Please go visit the Tie Master Home page!
They have posted some field and lab performance ratings.
They say:
Quote:
Joe Little's astonishing knot designs have outperformed every traditional knot by astonishing margins.
At the Berkley™ Laboratory we compared our system with standard knots on a 14 lb. Fireline™ test sample and found:
The Palomar knot failed at 16.3 lbs.
|
<font size="2" face="verdana,arial,helv">The Question:
At what pound did Joe Little's knot fail at?
Ready, set, answer the question, be the first back with the winning answer, and I'll send you this Tie Master, PLUS a Luhr Jensen Herring Rig!
   and an ifish decal, of course!
Have fun!!!! Winner must send me their physical address within an hour, or I'll give it to the next guy down. Gotta get to the PO, you know?
Happy Thanksgiving!

Re: Tie Master... Ready... Set....
"Held" at 32.8 lbs. Did it fail at 32.9 lbs?
Sounds like a trick question.....

Re: Tie Master... Ready... Set....

Re: Tie Master... Ready... Set....
How can a knot have 234% of the line strength (32.8lbs/14lbs)? Even if the 14 lb fireline is actually a little stronger than 14 lbs, I don't see how the knot could test out at 32 lbs.
They also claim to get a 3 lb knot out of 2 lb line. Neat trick, if you can do it. I kinda wonder, however.
I went to the site to try and figure it out, but the links for instructions don't take you to a page that shows how it works. Oh, well.

Re: Tie Master... Ready... Set....
Silver... its just a fancy nail. If you know how to tie a nail knot, you know how it works. Although it is easier to use (grip) than a nail.

Re: Tie Master... Ready... Set....
Sounds like some seriousley underated line to me! I thought Maxima was bad for that. You wouldn't want to use that for Tourney line or go for an IGFA with it now would ya!

Re: Tie Master... Ready... Set....
To all who do not have this knot tying wonder:
It really works. You'll be amazed at the strength of the knots you can tie.

Re: Tie Master... Ready... Set....
UG,
Thanks for the clue. I figured that out from the diagram. I have a similar tool, but it doesn't magically multiply the line strength by a factor of two, so I'm wondering if I need to get the new gadget.
