Default Anybody want to get paid to kill deer?

I did this for a while. Great group of people. If things are like the past, most will be done at night. I remember my personal best was something like 45 or 47 on one night.

Because they are pests. Like rats. There are thousands of them. The counties crop them off every fall.

They are there and the limits are very liberal. Without special permits, hunters can only kill two a day. Most hunters I knew would shoot one and not move. Soon there would be a second one to pass by. The counties only kill deer in public parks and on all the battle fields in that state. Most of the hunters I knew usually stopped at around six deer for the year. Hardly enough to keep up with the increase in annual numbers. This job will be for thinning the herds on public land.

And, by the way. That job is already filled. It's only publically advertised because the law says they have to.

My wife's brother lives in Mississippi and there are more deer per square mile in the state of Mississippi than any other state. He killed 3 doe on opening day last year. He told us that some years when the high deer numbers are causing auto accidents the fish and game will lift the limit and allow hunters to harvest as many does as they want. It has only happened like that 1 or 2 times in the last 10 years but it does happen. If you are an archery hunter your season runs from Aug to mid January (I think).

He has some of his deer meat made into tamales and they are incredible. Venison is a main staple in their daily diets.

As you can probably tell I am getting a little bit anxious for deer season to open up around here.
