Well I finally became a member and for the fishing story,it was catching my first Nehalem Bay hog,I was 8 years old and my dad and me were fishing above the 101 bridge trolling kwickfish when all of the sudden we see this this chinook jump clear out of the water right behind the boat and we thought that was pretty neat until it jumped again a little closer to the boat; of course then we were waiting for it to jump again and it did but this time when it landed in the water about a second later my pole got a violent takedown and was taking line fast . I finally got the pole out of the holder and fought this fish a couple minutes before we landed it . When we got back to wheeler it weighed 26# and was chromer. Well thats my story hope you enjoyed it.

Welcome aboard Dory! Thanks for the story. I got hooked about the same age but all it took was a trout about as long as I was old. Didn't get the Salmon fever until much much later. I don't know whether that was good luck or bad luck
