STURGEON Challenge TEAMS!!!!!
So ya wanna form teams do ya. Well here's your chance. Post the members of your teams here that will be participating January 10th in the Sturgeon Challenge.
If you need a boat ride here is the place to ask, beg, plead and grovel. I am sure a boating i-fisher will have mercy on ya.
Since I issued this challenge I hereby announce seats for this special day are filled. My preference would be to take folks that have never caught a sturgeon before. Thanks.
TEAM IT'S JUST FISHING
Catch and Eat
Pops
Foxer

Re: STURGEON Challenge TEAMS!!!!!
I have never participated in this event or fished for sturgeon, but even so it seems to me that there should be a sturgeon "Dream Team" consisting of:
SturgeonMike
SturgeonDave
Sturgeon 42
Sturgeon 1
Sturgeon King
Sturgeon Guru
SturgeonBait
Sturgeon Tom
Sturgeon Surgeon
That would be the team to beat if you ask me.
Can you flyfish for them things???

Re: STURGEON Challenge TEAMS!!!!!
10' of water in the estuary with a smelt fly, 300 Teeny and 80 leader. That should do it.
AS far as the dream team thing. That happened last year and they won the BATON!!!!!!!!! Now you know why I looking for Sturgeon Virgins. No hype, just fish production.

Re: STURGEON Challenge TEAMS!!!!!
Rules are have fun, take pictures if you can, no retention required and it is preferrable that you fish above the Waunna Power lines. No one will get mad if you fish the estuary, I think..... .
Last years BATON winner got no bites all day long. so the baton goes to whom ever puts on the biggest skunk of all. Kind of a Gong Show prize of sorts. The idea is to get i-fishers together and to possibly meet someone new that you have never fished with. Kind of the spirit of the deal. No one cares who you fish with or where you do it. But if your going to brag ya best have some pictures to back it up. You know how ruthless i-fishers and be.
One rule. No dinomite.

Re: STURGEON Challenge TEAMS!!!!!
Sinking your boat would beat somebodies Skunk for the Baton I would think (just in case there's a tie). All crew members have to survive though. No postumous Batons given.
Team "D-Oh" is trying to get it together. Good thing we have several weeks to do that could take a while....D-Oh!

Re: STURGEON Challenge TEAMS!!!!!
Bernie - Miss B hasn't started her makeover yet and proly won't by the 10th so it looks like I might get the Baton for the biggest boat with the littlest fish (don't repeat this on the Smack thread- I'll deny it). She runs pretty good on 11 3/4 cylinders anway.
Backup plan is a beer can boat that actually catches fish. We wouldn't stand a chance of the Baton in that boat. Still need to see about some of last years teamembers though before posting the team and any seats.
Now- about that open seat of yours. I figure you better just leave it open cause I'm going to use it as an anchor dropping target. I figure all the fish will be right under your boat hiding out from all the rest of the boats who can actually catch them!
Oops.. forgot this isn't the smack thread is it?

Justasillyolgirl, you're in. You just barely out posted/pm'd Mojo. Sorry Mojo :depressed: Who's got a seat for Mojo???? Come on give it up.
That's okay Mel, I smacked ya first. But you were right. The fish will be under my boat, and in my boat. I just hope foxer and Justasillyolgirl like fish slime.

Re: STURGEON Challenge TEAMS!!!!!
Amen to that Chris! But, ST has a nice brand new motor on the willie this year, so won't be limited to fishing only one spot 100 yards from the dock like last year. And did you happen to see who else is on our team? None other than the legendary UG, and last years winning "el capitan" No Wishin Just Fishin, and lest you not forget BugFlicker! I'm just along to put that one extra keeper in the boat, hopefully one that will surpass the keeper I got in the GI Joes sturgeon derby this year....8th largest for close to 500 rods. And then there's ST....well, he'll let his own skills do the talking that day.
Put your game faces on girls, it's going to be a long day for you!

Mel, D'Oh rules the seas! Will the GenSet handle the heater and a Vegomatic?
Are you bringing the wait-staff again?
I think what I look forward to the most is running my toes through the Burbur pile while relaxing on the divan. Who needs the Taj when you've got the Vatican!

Mel, you'll be too busy with those special mix bloody marys to catch anything! Going to be fishing from your tuna boat again?

Re: STURGEON Challenge TEAMS!!!!!
Ok here is the chance for one of you to turn us over to the sturgeon 'dark side'
Me and the wife are sturgeon virgins (hey that rhymes kinda)... Neither of us have ever caught or even fished for sturgeon. I dont have a boat but do have rods/reels to handle em'. If someone has a couple seats and doenst mind a couple newbies, I would enjoy participating in this
thanks

Re: STURGEON Challenge TEAMS!!!!!
Carrot crew and the rest of ya that can't read this ain't the smack thread. Thank you Mel for pointing that out AGAIN!
Glad to see folks in the spirit of this challenge giving up seats to those that are boatless. Pretty darn cool of you in my opinion. Hey folks that still don't have seats be sure to read back through this thread. There are still some generous offers out there for ya.
Keep posting those open seats.
Lucky Luke, sorry dude one girl per trip. Already got Justasillyolgirl on my sled and I can guarentee you she won't be showing up in no stinkin red dress like someone else I know.  Opps, now I did it. Broke my own dang rule.
