What are you best at?
All anglers seems to have one particular method or technique that they are best at. Fly fishing, drift fishing, bobber/jig...what's yours?
I'll try to cover as many as possible.
Thanks

Re: What are you best at?
Shane, I chose drift fishing because I do it the most. Am kinda successful at most methods after putting the time in, but lately, I've been clueless and terrrible at any method. Hope it gets better when the winterfish come on strong.

Re: What are you best at?
Hey Mr. Shane
we dont all fish the same.
I sure like your thread
check again before going to bed.
But how bout us that can claim
we use all those things the same.
Maybe an option to vote for something like "Use most methods about the same amount"? But good thread idea! Obviously shows what most people like to do most of.

Re: What are you best at?
Yeah I should have had plunking for salmon/steelhead as an option. Can't edit a poll though so I guess it fits under "other"

Re: What are you best at?
I'm a specialist, AKA, someone who dosn't catch as many fish as I might if I deversified. I catch lots of summer steelhead on spinners. That's what I like to do most

Re: What are you best at?
Catch Fish! This poll stated nothing about catching fish! It just asked what I was best at  .
I'm a fisherman not a catcher. Remember the worst day of fishing is always better than you best day of working .

Re: What are you best at?
Backbouncing for Chinook.
Drift fishing for Steelhead.
Pitching plastics for Bass.
This was a tuff pole to vote on. Depends on the day, the water, and the time of year.
Thanks Shane, it was fun thinking about it.

Re: What are you best at?
I am really good at running the kicker, cutting biat and netting fish.. (right Ram)
That's what I really enjoy doing.. slipping the "big honkin jet boat" through traffic, getting the proper hook placement and spin on the herring........... and netting fish.. that's what I like to do.
I'm pretty good with a rod in my hand too..

Re: What are you best at?
My fingers used to be able to handle all types of fishing and I was pretty good at them all. I was fishing more and enjoyed my time on the rivers. I caught fish and learned many methods.
Now that I am older and have less time to get out, I find myself dropping back into the learner stage again. But I still can catch the warmwater fish, esp. bass.
Too many new methods and too many new rigs and lures to learn to use. Going with people like fishin mission has helped considerably.
In the old days (that just made me feel older), we used only a few lures like corkies, oakies and eggs. Using only those few, we caught fish and we got to be pretty good at it.
Oh well I can still enjoy the getting out onto the river, even if I don't catch as many fish.
