Default Help viewing Tillamook Bait site, please?

Could you please try this site?

Marie says she has people who can't view it.
I don't have the time to totally check it out, cuz I found out I am a sit in for the Rendezvous tomorrow, and I have to get ready!
Please, can you click on it? It comes up fine for me. Thank you for your help!!!

Just tell me if it all works for you? If not, what error do you get?

Jen

Hi Jennie,

I received at least 3 calls saying they can't open ifish.net from my web page.

ifish.net doesn't open up...thats sad...

Now we need to test that aspect.

Thanks in advance..

I live way out in the country, so I can only hook up the the internet at 26K. I had no problems at all with accessing The TBS page. The Ifish link also worked fine for me. The only constructive criticism I can offer is that the dark text on dark background is hard to read in places. Those colors sure grab ya, very pretty!

I don't see anything in the code that would make it so that iFish wouldn't load properly from Jennie's link. It's straight-forward HTML. Personally I'd add target="_blank" after the URL in the hyperlink tag to open the page in a new window, just to keep the main page open and open the new page in a new window.

I'd also change the search engine words on the top in black to match the background. Hides them nicely, and the crawler should still pick it up.

Of course, that's personal preference. Your mileage may vary, offer void where prohibited, etc.

[EDIT] On the order form page you reference a PayPal logo which doesn't exist.

I suspect part of the issue is the size of your graphics files. Some, (in particular the scent stuff - most are >100k each in size) pics are higher resolution that the Web uses, AND that fact that you are resizing them in the code/browser makes the page load take longer.

The solution here is lower res and sized to fit the page in advance -- both easy to do. Then have a click-thru option for a higher res if someone wants it.

Some people with slow speed connections have to wait an inordinate amt of time -- Im on a 56k line with about 1/2 of that thru-put and the product page takes several minutes to load.

The site is nice/appealing. The above comments were meant to be constructive - please dont take it wrong.

Hope this helps -j

Marie, You also might ask them how they are accessing the site, if they're using a dail-up modem maybe it's timing out before the site loads............

The only "script" that is on that page is a small bit of Javascript. I would recommend going to Sun's website and download the Java runtimes. It's about an 8 megabyte download for Windows users but it should resolve this issue, plus they are handy to have if you want to do the iFish chats.

The Java runtimes can be found here.
