Default Mazatlan fishing info needed

Anyone out there with information on fishing in Mazatlan? Going there beginning of February and would like to spend a day on the water. Thanks!

Kenai,

I did a little sailfishing there in december a few years ago. Saw plenty of fish laying on their sides on the surface sunning themselves, dragged many a bait right in front of their noses, but not even a look. As is always, the guide said "you should've been here a couple of weeks ago...red hot!!!" Don't know how the late winter fishing is, but if it's slow, there's always the cantina!!!

Have fun!!!

Buck

Kenai,
I was there a couple years ago and spent the day roasting on an old tub. We had one take down all day. The boat we were on smoked really bad and the smoked rolled up right into the back of the boat. We did see some fish hanging back at the docks, but not many. I was there in early November. I wish I could remember the name of the charter so you could steer clear of it. Also was told they would provide lunch and had bottled water onboard. They had neither.
Check out the charter really good before you go, bring some snacks and beverage of choice. Good luck and have a good time.

Buckfish-On that day I would have to say I'd rather have been at work.

I had an excellent time fishing there. We went on the charter offered through the Pueblo Bonito hotel. It was cheap for small game fish ($40/person). It was non-stop action for red snapper and tripper fish. The sail fish adventure costs a little more. The boat we were on was in perfect running condition.
