Cowlitz (Barrier/Blue Cr) or John Day Dam?

Fished John Day yesterday 11-18. We didn't do any good except for one good take down, but the fish checker had checked 3 fish at 2:00 for 3 boats with 1 boat with 2 fish. About a dozen people fishing there. No weeds and no wind made it a nice day. 1/2 were fishing in the John Day arm and 1/2 in the Columbia. The fish checker said the best luck has been in the John Day arm.

it has been slow in John day with the recent rains. i would go to the cowlitz if it was me. i say that cause we were up there sat and we only got one. bobber and jig/sand shr or prawn seemed to be the best bet but i would try plugs too. good luck.

We hit the JD today from 7:30 to 4 or so. We had a good time, with two 10-13# hatchery fish landed, but neither was bright enough to take home. One 2# small mouth and another missed hookup. The weather was nice with only an hour or two of wind all day. Saw a few caught, but I wouldn't call it red hot. Beat working today.....

Which one should I do this weekend? Any suggestions, and if you've fished either of these lately your input would be best :smile:

I've got a sled so that's how we'll be fishin'.

There are no fish at Blue Creek.

I repeat. NO FISH AT BLUE CREEK.
