Bankee's Paradise (11/17)
I hate all those "zipper-lip" stories people post but sometimes you just have to brag and still protect your sweet spot.
I fished the zipper-lip Sunday for several hours. The weather was beautiful. The river was at a near optimal level and there was nobody around. I had my choice of 4 really good holes and only saw one person pass thru, on a Cataraft. I know there were other fishers on the ole zip cause there were cars everywhere but none on "my" stretch.
The score for the day was 3 for 4. I released two 10-15lb Chinook bucks that were just starting to stripe and pink up on the cheeks, lost one big 'ole steelie and bonked a beautiful 12lb, chrome steelie buck, complete with sealice.
It's comforting to know that in this day of combat fishing and hog lines, a man can still occasionally find solitude and a bitting fish in the same spot of time.
