Wilson River Today 11-18
Thought I would go looking for an early winter steelhead on the Wilson today. Ran into this instead! A little spritz of Maries Shrimp Scent didn't hurt either. Thanks for the picture Marie
Thanks for the filleting lesson Bill
Jennie that's one crazy dog you've got there. To bad you can't bottle all that energy

Way to go Shane! I did the exact opposite. Looking for some Nookie but wound up with an early winter Steelie. I'll trade you

Re: Wilson River Today 11-18
OK, but tell us about it, Shane.
What was it like? How did it hit?
How long did you play it?
Where was it hooked? Was it hooked good?
Did it leap, do cartwheels, or bury it's head down low?
I want all the details!!!

Re: Wilson River Today 11-18
....and by the way, Kilchis the dog is not so crazy tonight.
After you left, he started throwing up massive quanities of rotten salmon.... He is now laying on the couch, and I'm praying he doesn't have salmon poisoning.
We were pretty sure he got it last year, but there's always a chance he could get it again, if he didn't get it good enough last time. :depressed:
I'm pretty stressed, and poor Kilchis is lifeless...
:depressed:

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helv">Hit hard! Just like a tough snag! But since I am real familiar with that area I knew it wasn't a snag. Thought it was a big steelhead at first but it never did break water. The hook (Owner Cutting point) was in the corner of the mouth with my chewed on corkie and remnant of steelhead eggs cluster.
Nope...no cart wheels and it was very tough to keep it from heading down a fast chute of water where it would have been gone.
1143C Rainshadow built by me and a 201SG Shimano Bantam came through. Took about 20 minutes to land.
Thanks for lunch Jen

Wow Shane too cool. That must have been one tough battle on steelhead gear.

Re: Wilson River Today 11-18
Jen take the dog to the vet. I just went thru the same thing. I trust our vet. He asked if we wanted any salmon horror stories. We heard a couple. I know the medicine aint free. But these dogs are an investment (wish I could sell mine for what we got in him!) and they need some care. Especially the salmon munching breeds.
Nice fish Shane.
Mark and the dog.
