Default Introduction

I got turned onto ifish a few months ago from a buddy that's been with you for a while. I grew up in Oregon fishing the all the coastal northern coastal streams, Central Oregon streams, and the Rogue.

I do most of my fishing with a flyrod...I would do all my fishing with a fly rod, but I have yet to find a fly rig for oversized Sturgeon.

As for a fish story...about 17 years ago I was fishing the spring Chinny run on the Trask. I just got my drivers lic. and we were off to the river mid week. We timed the water level and fish count perfect. We fished above the Hatchery and we had a fish every cast. This made up for all the days I fished with the eyes of my rod freezing up...along with my A#@, not catching fish. I think I caught more Salmon that day than I caught in the last five years. This was also the day I watched a lone fly fisherman do as well as we did. It seemed that all four of us had fish on at the same time...the whole time. My fish and the fly fishermans fished crossed and he handed me his fly rod as I handed him my gear rod. I was hooked instantly. Hearing the line peel off the reel got my heart pumpen...and then I went to reel back and relized the dam thing didn't work like a regular real and it busted off. Ever since that day I was sold....Hooking into big fish with a fly rod is unreal...

I did fish the Trask this weekend. Same place, but the fishing was not as good. I did hook up, but the fish were dark. I did see a guy catch a 5 pound steelhead...Nice fish...Lots of fish being hooked but they were not so nice looking.
