Beavers and ducks have identical conference and season records. The winner goes .500 in conference play and, with a bowl win, end the season 9-4.

Hmmmmm..... Who will win?

There are more ducks jumping off the bandwagon than fleas off Maxine the wonderdog when she gets a new Sargent's shampooing!!

One good whompin' by the Beavs and the ducks will likey lose the Hormel SPAM bowl to eastern weslyan college of the blind. They will end 7-6. All 32 core "duck believers" will show up for the loss. From a number #3 team? Yeah right.

As a recent Beav Grad, I proudly support the black and orange. As for the teams having identical records, hmm I think that the DUCK's record should have an asterisk (7*-4) by it because didnt they play Portland State? That is like beating up your 12 year old little brother and then saying your tough--haha! :grin:

It will be a good game though. I predict 35-12 Beavs!

You are right, Ducks have looked pretty flat of late but in the history of Civil War, this game is usually closely contested regardless of season records. Maybe Belotti will put in the 3rd string QB this week and Ducks will throw for 400+? It's not over until the smoke clears at burrito stadium...

I have a Beaver flag on the pole outside (still below the American, however), but I've been a LSBF (Long Suffering Beaver Fan) for too many years to gloat...especially before the fact...I, for one, plan to sit stoic-ly off by myself all week, looking grim and all-knowing and hope for the best (at least one touchdown by the fourth quarter) It's only coincidence that I'll be in the same beach cabin, watching the same television set (assuming that growling subsides between OSU and KEZI) with the same people and eating duck chili...as I was the last time the Beavers won in the greatest football game I've ever seen...

I was at the UW - OSU game and left saying "that is the worst QB in the PAC 10". That was until last Saturday. I'd say they are a push. OSU has a better ground game by far. I'd have to give it to them. Plus, Nuclear Duck Man is just bad Karma. That is one mascot that needs to be retired......soon.

I've got season tickest right behind the visitors bench, which means this week right behind the ducks. On the 45 yard line. It will be an uneasy adventure to say the least for the players, coach's and equipment boyz. There will be very little civil about it. Period.....

Ducks didn't get the facilities they have by fans jumping on and off the band wagon. The support for the Ducks has been terrific. Now at Potato Salad Stadium, they would be lucky in most years if the coach even showed up. Beavers run smack every time after they win a game or two and then the silence is deafening. Do not worry brother Beavers the Duck Fans are on your side for every game of the year but one and this is the one. Regardless of the outcome both schools have come a long way and hopefully will get better and better and who knows maybe someday the National Championship game will be #1 Oregon against #2 Oregon State. That being said "Go Ducks"

As for the Portland State Game, if you can read with your OSU degree then you would know that the game was a fill in for Michigan which pulled out of the schedule. And all those games are scheduled years in advance and tough to find a quality opponent when someone pulls out. :depressed:

I just heard on the news this morning that the two schools are having a problem coming to an agreement on the tv broadcast of the game saturday. The news stated that if they don't come to an agreement soon it will NOT be televised.

Back to the Smack.....Catch and Eat, "SPLAT" is about what the Ducks have been doing for the last 5 weeks! Hey, I didn't go to either school, but would tend to call myself more of a Duck fan. But even still, one can't deny that distinct vacuum sound of a HOOVER......something about a golfball through a gardenhose is what the Ducks are doing lately. And without O.Smith, it's not even going to be a game. The Beavs will destroy the Ducks this week.....not the outcome I'm hoping for mind you, just the sad facts. Better start dreaming about next season, and maybe a decent QB. Fife doesn't cut it, plain and simple.

KEZI is the only party that offered any compromise in this situation. Since KEZI is an ABC affiliate, they are required to use ABC broadcasters but that have offered to switch from their local broadcasters to neutral/impartial broadcasters so that both schools fans can see the game. OSU will not budge, insisting that they use only the non-ABC OSU broadcasters. Money issues aside, KEZI wants to work with OSU to get the game on for the fans, OSU wants to risk ******* off their fan-base by standing up against what they see is a big-bad UO ploy. This is not being driven by UO, it is a ABC/KEZI thing and ABC/KEZI is open for negotiation. If OSU does not take a opportunity to get this game televised, the cost to the university will be far greater than the $$'s lost (angst of fan base, negative perception, loss of program visibility, etc). As other Ducks have said, I am a fan of OSU's for all games except one (Civil War), time for OSU to realize that this is not a ******* contest...
