Anchor Bag...Great Product
I just purchased an Anchor Bag from Chinook Outdoor Gear. This Bag is total custom, and has been designed by a fisherman, for a fisherman.
I have an Anchor Bag...this bag is much better, and fairly priced.
A bonus, this Bag is Made locally here (In Milwaukie), not in a sweat shop in some third world country.
Happy Fishing,
Troy

Re: Anchor Bag...Great Product
I'm sure this is a stellar product. For those who don't want to spend $30, this is what I do. Get a five gallon bucket and a mesh laundry bag. Put the bag in the bucket and drap it over the edge of the bucket like a trash bag. On the top of the mesh bag, tie some small rope to the top of the bag, and some clamp or hook to that, which you can use to tie to your main anchor line to prevent excess from leaving the bag. However, if you use the cinch on the mesh bag, this isn't much of a problem anyway. When you're letting line out, leave the bag open, close it to through out, then open it in the bucket to bring it in again. Works perfect and probably costs $5 to engineer. If you want it to float better but a 20 oz bottle in the bottom of the bag.

Re: Anchor Bag...Great Product
Any strong mesh bag works. I use an onion bag and a milk crate to hold it. 300 ft. of anchor rope fits nicely. Way less than 30$

Re: Anchor Bag...Great Product
What I like about this bag is that this is a true custome design. It holds 500' of anchor rope. It is sewn together and assembled using clips and buckels. It has a T Bar for tying off the anchor rope. I replaced my $20.00 GI Joes anchor bag, which was nothing more than a mesh bag.
There may be cheaper solutions, but I have not seen a better soulution.

I'm liking that fish pack too. Don't think I've seen that kind of thing at Joe's.

Re: Anchor Bag...Great Product
Looks like a neat bag. I like cleat idea.
The one I have now works great except it holds alot of water and my anchor puller (my wife most of the time) has trouble pulling an extra 5 gallons of water in the boat.
So my question is, does this one have drain holes? I didn't see anything on the add.

Re: Anchor Bag...Great Product
Small Fry,
The Bag is made of a Heavy Vinyl Coated Mesh...so it drains well.
It has a groment hole to tie off the very end of the anchor rope. The cleat lets you tie the bag off so not extra rope pays out. It also buckels closed, rather than using a draw string.
It's a pretty clean design, looks nice in the bow, and works great.

Re: Anchor Bag...Great Product
Punch a few holes in the bottom of your bucket...drains well and, as others said, it all costs a few $$!!
