Wilson today
I tried the guide shop this morning to no avail. Lots of people and no fish biting. After about 45 minutes I decided to go up river and fish some jigs. I managed to hook this nice steelie on a pink/white First Cast Jig.

Re: Wilson today
OK Sports fans is this a late summer or an early winter ?
Winter fish at the guide shop should have bright rays in tail within a 1/4 inch of the end of the tail.
What do you think ?

Re: Wilson today
Well I think its a lost Clackamas fish that was following his girl friend upriver. He would have turned around and gone the right direction but you know how women are. Once you are hooked you're done.
Nice fish BTW and no I don't care if it is a summer or winter fish. Its a beauty.

Re: Wilson today
Way to go on the steelie. I've heard of a few being caught in the past week.
Is that the same jig you caught one on a couple weeks ago behind the guide Shop?

Re: Wilson today
Yep, the same color. I hooked 4 steelhead on that the same jig, but this last one some how pulled the head out of the jig. The pin pulled out about 1/4" and bent. Ever have this happen to you Mark?

Re: Wilson today
Hey 6horse,
nice fish..... not to rain on your parade, but why are you fishing for slimerockets when the lower river has lots of big bright CHINOOK? Man, those summers are available from July through Dec, but these nookers are in the river in force for about 3-4 weeks......... show me a pic of your 40 pounder with long tail lice and I will really be impressed...... Chinook, chinook.....CHI NOOK........... now go get um...

Re: Wilson today
fishbait (Steve)
Last weekend on the Wilson we were tossing golf ball size eggs with a 5/0 hook under a bobber when a 10# summer buck inhaled the offering. The kicker...he had a #4 hook inbedded in his lower jaw. Someone had lost a previous battle with him.
Quite a few steelies around.

That looks like a baby. Send her to me so I can say " Get in my belly!" Our steelhead season is winding down and yours is winding up. That and your Chinook are big and bright. Ours are dead or dying. Weird stuff! Good luck!
