Bright fish in tidewater yet???
I have most of the day free tomorrow and was thinking about heading down to the coast for some fishing (likely to the Trask). The dark fish seemed to have moved up river with the latest rain, but I haven't heard much about new fish moving in. With the calm weather today, do people think some new fish will move into the bay and work their way into the lower rivers? The river levels seem to be heading back down, which is usually a good sign. I'm just trying to decide between that and heading up to the upper Clack or even EC.
Would likely be doing the bobber/egg thing from a bank, if that helps.
Thanks.

Re: Bright fish in tidewater yet???
Only one way to find out! I'm taking the day off tomorrow to go chase them in tidewater too. I'm thinking about hitting the lower part of the Wilson. It's gotta be pretty good about now, the water level looks to be 4.5' - 5'.

Re: Bright fish in tidewater yet???
Oh, I know. I just get so few 'free days' of fishing that I like to make the most of them. Plus I originally had plans to go down with someone and they backed out. I don't mind getting skunked when fishing with friends or relatives because you still end up having fun. But going at it alone and getting skunked can be a downer. The drive is also quite a bit longer for me since the Clack is only a few minutes away.

Re: Bright fish in tidewater yet???
I am with you, I too want to hit that coast as I have yet to do it this year. And tomorrow I have off and no committment in the evening.I think the EC move is for me, for pretty much the same reasons.
I will be taking the Thanksgiving week off, then I will head to the coast.
If you want to join up tomorrow let me know.

After seeing the two that Jennie caught, I'm thinking coastal tidewater it is. Thanks for the offer.

Re: Bright fish in tidewater yet???
What a brutal day! I fished Trask tidewater for 4 hours in a cluster of boats .... not a bobber down or a fish to be seen! Trolled spinners and Quickies for another 4 hours and saw only 2 fish hooked. I think the rain and the rise in the rivers sucked the fish upstream pretty well, but I did hear a nice report from the bay of several fish caught around high slack today. The storms forecast for this weekend could blow things out for a while ... time to look in the rivers.

Re: Bright fish in tidewater yet???
The Wilson has put out fish all the way to the Guide Shop!
Marie told me to go fish behind the Guide Shop.
Anyone hear how it's been?

Re: Bright fish in tidewater yet???
have not been fishing in 10 days due to travel and work, but I'm here to tell ya that with these river levels , >3.0 the bright fish will scoot up and not be holding in TW. You can still get on um as they move if you know a railing spot but they will not start holding in TW again until the river gets down under about 2.5 or so, they might slow down for part of a tide but they will not hold..... Fish the lower river for the brighest fish.............
