Default where to go this weekend

Thinking of either Kilchis/Miami for Chum, or staying in Portland and hitting eagle creek. Which river will be blown out first? I know there should be some chinook coming in wihth the Chum as well....

foxer -

Anybody's guess at this point. After all it can rain like crazy at the coast and not so much at Eagle Creek. Or even vice versa.

The Miami clears quickly and will likely have chum. The Kilches not quite as quickly, but will likely also have other types of fish in it too. Can we say "Chrome Nookie?"

Eagle creek may get a spurt of brilliant red silvers (oxymoronic?) but it is a bit early to expect any winter metalheads yet. But the drive isn't as far.

Wherever you decide to go be sure to post the results and read how everybody did who went where you didn't!

Coast bodies of water should have fish pretty much consistantly. Blown out depends on the rain between then and now. If I could predict rain with accuracy I'd be the one in the tight shirts on the local Fox affiliate (be glad I don't predict weather well).

Eagle Creek will have fish, but they will be overwhelmingly dark. From reports I've seen here I'd say that late summer steelie fishing from Faraday down to Barton would be the trick in our area without crossing over the big river. Or if you are familiar with the upper stretches of the Sandy (which I am not) there will be some good summer action up there.

Just a heads up, I think that all the coastal streams are closed for even targeting chums on the 16th.
