I have purchased quite a few reels off of E-Bay. Bought some old sytle Hot-n-Tots too. Never had a problem. Check out the sellers rating prior to bidding. If I see negative feedback that indicates there are recurring problems, I won't even bid on the item.

Good Luck

Have bought more than 150 items from eBay and have never had a problem. Not one.

I've bought many items off of E-Bay, w/ no problems. I do however pay a lot of attention to the sellers feedback, too many negatives, means I won't deal w/ that seller. There are some good buys but it takes time to find them.

Have bought and sold almost 1000 items on ebay. Only one problem and we got that taken care of. Suggest you ask for and pay for insurance. Also recommend you request Priority shipping on items under 5 lbs. Agree strongly with others...CHECK FEEDBACK before bidding.

Ditto the Feedback. It will save you some trouble.
