Default 1964 6 hp Mercury for sale NOW WITH PICS

My dad has a lot on his plate right now and doesn't want to become a small engine mechanic. Review the post I made about this motor here:
http://www.ifish.net/board/showthread.php?t=361437

He bought a carb kit but has not used it. I talked with him last night and he said he wants to sell it as is.

Comes with original gas can and owner's manual as well as the carb kit.

For $250 and a little time you could have a solid, strong running motor. They don't make them like this anymore.

I'll get some pics up ASAP.

Located north of Coburg.

Someone is probably going to want to know if it is a long or short shaft.

The shaft, as measured from the bottom of the transom mounting bracket to the cavitation plate, is 18", and 23" to the center of the propeller shaft.

Now for the pics: be advised that the orange shadow is a reflection of the blaze pullover I was wearing when I took the photos.

For just $250 someone is going to get a motor that could outlive us all.

I'll get the official weight tomorrow.
See the second pic - the shifter is on the starboard side below the "Y" in Mercury.

Mike at Mercury in Wisconsin told me, "You're looking at 55 pounds, eh."

Mike gave me a bum steer.
I took the motor off the transom. It's not more than 40 pounds, tops.
The new 6 hp motors are 53 pounds so I think Mike guessed.

Pharmseller,

I hate to butt in but I have the exact same motor except it is a 1965 model and my manual says it weighs 57 lbs. I think Mike is close to the actual weight of the motor. I don't know how you weighed it but 40lbs seems to be awful light.

Yeah, sort of sorry to see her go. If she could talk, the stories she could tell!

Misty mornings as the sun rose over Davis Lake in the late '60s.
The thump thump thump of Ford Fenders enticing bluebacks around Cushman.
The soft grind of sand under the boat in tidewater, racing low tide for clams.
So many memories, so many years.
