Re: How high will the rivers get?
he he, like somebody else said on a thread..
How long is a string... (cracks me up)
the watershed for the T-bay system is covers over 350K acres, which shed gets the 4-6 inches, kilchis...immediate blow out... Nestucca, slower rise, just depends. Its cold up there as well so higher moisture might just result in snow.

Re: How high will the rivers get?
It is very dry in the coast range right now, the bulk of the rain will get soaked up. Typical of our 'first' fall rains, it might take a while to really affect the rivers. I guess we will wait and see...IF we get 5-6 inches it should bring them up quite a bit.

Re: How high will the rivers get?
This is what the Kilchis looks like right now.
No flow, whatsoever!
You just wait for a couple days and see what this turns into.
I'll post another pic in a couple days.
It's amazing!

Re: How high will the rivers get?
With the number of leaves in the river after the first big rain they wont even be fishable anyway. :depressed: :depressed:

Re: How high will the rivers get?
Hear me now and believe me later.
I think its going to be more windy than anything..........there is a good fetch of rain on the satellite images but the pressure gradients are pretty strong also.

Re: How high will the rivers get?
Enough to do what we need I hope, will vary alot from river to river. Will also make a big diff if we get alot of wind with keeping the water out of the tree's. But most important we need the predicted rainfall to become the real thing. It has been wet 3 times in my town so far, but has not gave the big show yet. If I see ya on the river I hope were all soaked.

Re: How high will the rivers get?
I heard there will be 25ft sea's on Fri. that is outragous...
If we get lots of rain the rivers could easily blow out from the run off....

Re: How high will the rivers get?
It all depends on how fast we get the rain. But if they do flood, just wait till they drop. There will be fish EVERYWHERE.
I will be out there.

Re: How high will the rivers get?
Uh, ok ... I'll guess One Quarter Inch, OK? That's how much I predict the river's will be up by Monday.

Re: How high will the rivers get?
The national weather service seams to predict the Wilson will only be in the low 3 ft range by the 9th.
I think the ground will soak a lot up and if it is up there is going to be a ton of leaves.

Re: How high will the rivers get?
I agree with you Dave, this is still only the first major rain of the Fall. The ground is not at all saturated, and will soak up a good share of this rain, especially if it's spread out over a few days. I will say it will not get over 5'-6', but the leaves will make fishing a real challenge. All I can say is YIPPEE, RAIN!!!
