Default 5th Street boat dock!

After an enjoyable day fishing with Jennie and Pete on the T-Bay I decided to try a little bobber/egg fishing from the boat dock at 5th Street. A few boats were filtering in and a lot of fish were rolling. So me with no net, not really thinking I would catch a fish decided to give it a try since there wasn't alot of boat traffic. Sure enough! bobber down! A bright 12 lb. chinook took my eggs! Imagine the surprise of the two other guys fishing up on the bank by the restrooms. Slid him right up the ramp!
I would never have fished this if the area had been busy with boat traffic! So once in awhile you just get lucky!

Heck, Mel, if he'd gone fishing with someone else, he might never have left the dock.

Pete - I resemble that remark. I almost posted for open seats Friday for Crab and last Salmon troll hoorah on the CR. Good thing I checked the forecast first. 25 footers and 35-40 knots SE. Yeeehaaa - Should be down to about 10-15 feet swell inside the river plus about 4 feet of wind chop coming at you side ways. We may not get off the dock to get home!

Man that dock sure gets slippery in the morning. On sunday morning, it was a sheet of ice. Gets darn cold at night now. Be careful. I'm sure that dock is as good a place as any to fish, when boats are not around. Got a few in the twobit hole on sunday. Good morning bite and a surprisingly good evening bite too. Still a few cromers in there. I caught a cromer after seeing about 15 dark fish caught. I felt like I hit the lottery! Brian

Reminds me of last year fishing the Trask tide water. It was dead and we fished all the way down from the ramp at 5th street to the bay. Nothing at the end of the day we were going to take out and the ramp at 5th street was a jammed with boats. I headed upstream about 50ft and dropped anchor to wait for the ramp to clear. I saw a fish roll against the far bank , and baited up with a glob of eggs and casted over and it drifted down stream on front of that bench on on back and dissapeared. it was a 30lb chromer. Only fish all day. That was my fat lady singing fish....ha

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helv">It was cool Jen wish you could have gone! If it would have been a bigger fish then the outcome may have been different since I didn't have a net. Should have seen the hogs Len Self brought in.

Way to go Shane. However now that you told everyone about the dock you won't be able to get back on it again. It will be to crowded ( (right Misson)
