Default Fall Salmon

This is the second year in a row that there has been minimal rainfall during what I always thought of as the prime time to get (bright) fall fish... I guess a guy needs to pop his boat into
tidewater huh?.. (If you're looking for a drift boat, I have a beauty posted) I tried to upload a pic of an '02 hog just now, but it is too large a file... I'll just tell y'all it was 46#, caught in the Columbia and took two of us an hour and a half to land it (from the boat)...

An hour and a half?? I don't know if I would be braggin' about that.

I don't know if the Ghost Hole is Tidewater...I don't think it would qualify..but it sounds like the action there has been good.

Reduce your picture's file size to less than 100 kb....and if you do everything else as directed...it should come up. I think we all would like to see it!!

An hour and a half is worth bragging about...

It probably means that you were fishing more for sport than meat! ...unlike some others.

It also means you weren't using some crazy 80-100 test braided line or something rediculous
I always try and use line that is sufficient to catching fish, but not having to just SKATE THE FISH IN not too much sport in that.

oh well, to each their own. NICE FISH~!
welcom aboard

One minute of reeling time equals ten minutes of regular time.

An hour and half is a little long but not excessive. There was a guy on the kenai who fought a potential world record king for somewhere in the neighborhood of 5-6 hours before it was lost at the boat.. Time to land has alot more to do w/expirience that what size of line you use. I whupped a 41lb fall chinook on 10lb in less than 30 minutes. Anything more than 17-20lb test for salmon is a bit excessive. But I can see why you would want the heavier braided line for a bobber rod.
