Decided! Bought a Boat! Yipee!
Look out next spring for a brand new 21ft N.R. Seahawk with 225 4s Yamaha and 15 hp kicker on an offshore bracket lurking about the Umpqua and and Coos bay areas. I may even have to bring it up to Tillamook and the Columbia and have one of you "show me around!
What a relief!

Re: Decided! Bought a Boat! Yipee!
Hey, that's awesome!! What's your build time?? Last I heard it was around 14 weeks?
And, being a Roseburg resident, you get a little extra something knocked off the price as well??

Let me know when you'll be around, I'll show you some hot spots. I even make the trip up north to chase some spingers and oversize in the columbia every now and then also and can share some insight.

Re: Decided! Bought a Boat! Yipee!
Build time is about 4 months, which is fine for me...She'll be ready for ocean Salmon when I get her. I'm busy collecting electronics now, I can get them for quit a bit less than if bought with the boat. I'm looking at Lowrance lcx 15MT...I'm used to them as that is what I have on my present boat, I have an Icom radio, and hopefully a Raymarine sport autopilot, so I can leave the helm relatively safely when my 6 year old son and I are busy reeling in monsters.
Thanks!
Kurt

Re: Decided! Bought a Boat! Yipee!
So Cool! I remember waiting for mine. I lost lots of sleep dreamin' of the places we would go & the fish we would catch  . This is going to be a tough wait for you!
I drove my wife completely crazy for 6 years as I researched and changed my mind about a thousand times . I had visited every aluminum jet boat manufacturer in three states & had narrowed it down to 3 boats which I then spread out on an excel spreadsheet to compare apples to apples . I then faxed this spread sheet to the salesmen & bonked them all down to as low as they could go, playing them off on themselves. Ended up getting 1ft. of lenght, 20 more h.p., free kicker, welded/removeable hard top & a couple of extras thrown in for $4K less than the nearest competitor! The Winner? NORTH RIVER of course! The Abrahm's Tank of Jet Boats. Yeah.

Full Freezer,
Wow, That's what I call Research. I like that spread sheet idea I'll have to do the same thing when I buy my first real boat.
Thanks for that Idea

Re: Decided! Bought a Boat! Yipee!
Hows things in Roseburg? I grew up there (class of 1987), lived right on the Umpqua down below Umpqua Community College. I have not been back in a few years and I miss the town.
Congrats on your new boat, you might find it hard to sleep for the next few months.

Re: Decided! Bought a Boat! Yipee!
Hey Big-n-brite. I had one chance to do it right & the ol' lady didn't want to hear me have buyer's remorse or complaining about a choice I had made. North River simply offered the biggest bang for the buck w/ no hard pressure. And it sure looks sweet. Did the same thing when i bought my camper too.

Re: Decided! Bought a Boat! Yipee!
Hey G.Umpqua, I was looking into the TR-1 and was put off by the 2k price tag and it was to late to finance it in. Can you tell me a little about the RayMarine Sport Auto Pilot? How does it work, features, cost, ect.
Thanks
Fool
