Yup, the paper (Oregonian) was right! My nephew scored with a nice 16 inch pig of a rainbow trout. Tasted great - nice pink meat. Rainbow power bait - about 12" leader. He also caught a litte 8" stocker to go with it. I didn't catch a thing, but plenty of chances . Very light bites.

Pleasant day. If you go, parking is best from behind the elementary school rather than off NE Glisan (where everyone seems to be parking even though it is fenced and posted).

Bring a bag and collect some trash - otherwise we risk loosing another local trout pond because of the few bad apples masquerading fishermen.

I live very close to those ponds, and have seen people fishing there. Was it crowded? Do they stock often? I noticed a bunch of construction and wasn't sure if there was public access.

I haven't done the Power Bait thing in a long time, and I think it would be a relaxing way to fish. A 16" rainbow is a trophy in my book, especially in Portland! [img]graemlins/applause.gif[/img]

Plenty of room. I am not sure if it is going to be on the regular stocking schedule - Thursday paper just mentioned it got a shot of large trout. Public access is from the elementary school parking lot (behind Reynolds Middle School).
