Default Cowlitz Buck Stlhd

Had to hang around the house most of the day and watch the plumbers install some stuff in my shop, but did manage to sneak down to the river about 3:00. Wasn't there 15 minutes and beached a 32" Buck that weighed 13-14 lbs. River is up about 4' over what it was before the thaw, but it had dropped some by the looks of the waterline in the snow. It will come up a lot more before its all over. Visibility just up from the mouth of the Toutle is about 12" maybe less. Pitched out with a hot pink No. 2 Spin-glo w/sand shrimp no more than 6-8' out from the bank. Prefer drifting, but it was a plunking show today. Apparently one fella had caught two there earlier in the day. Another guy had hooked and released about a 20 lb Fall Chinook according to one of the guys I talked to.

A fall chinook??? I don't know if I would believe the guy that told you that. It seems a little late to be catching fall chinook. But maybe someone did hook one.

Thanks for sharing the info about the "Cow". Might just have to run up to "Zoo Creek" and give it a go.
