Default Lake Columbia Sturgeon Report

A perfect glass, no wind day with Madeline and her husband Jerry. (Team Dipnet). Many shakers and a few keeper size. Smelt and Squid. Frenchman's area. Some scenery shots. Fog was "lifting" off the water this afternoon.

Don't know who in the heck these people were.

Good job guys.

We slaughtered them in the gorge. Fifty or so to the boat with three keeper fish. I also hooked into Moby Dick but wasn't prepared to do battle. One other boat within eyesight, man what a day.

Yeah...It was really nice out there 'til just before dark...when it got really cold..really fast!!

Lots of action...but nuthin' really big...but hey. We weren't there for the "meat" anyway!!

Good to see you out there Rick...and nice to meet Jerry and Madeline, too.

Was wishing I had the digi cam when the fog made an appearance...really cool and kinda EERIE.

Nice Report, Rick!

Looks like it was a great day to be on the water. Great pics.

Dipnet, Nice pic of Rick battling that fish. I have yet to see him battle a 'gator. Course the only gator fishin I've done with him was for oversize and he don't want anything to do with them bad boys....

Rick - I've got a bunch of smelt in my freezer waiting for an excuse to get back in the water.

Mark - Looks like you had fun also. When do you want to hit the Lewis?

Steve

Thanks for sharing guys. Nice to see Mark out on the water for a change too. Must be getting caught up on the honey do's.

Hey Chris, tell me where your secret spots up there are.

******... no wonder you let them gators all go. You don't have any choice cause it looks like you're fishing with a trout rod there.

Where is Frenchman's Bar?

I've got my handy dandy Columbia River Map out & can't find it anywhere!

Thanks'

Just downstream of the Mouth of the Willamette where all of the ships anchor. There is a count park on the Washington side called "Frenchmans Bar".

Actually Mel, that is a 20-50 Tiger "Tuna" Ugly Stik. You just can't hurt or break those things, or we would have, many times. Got tired of splintering so called high end graphite sturgeon rods. Ask Steelie Steve about breaking in his new one.
