A few years ago I had occasion to do a United Stated Patent search on fish hooks. Some of the patents really interesting and some are really funny, and some are just plain stupid. (like the lure with the .38 special cartridge inside that is designed to blow the fishs head off when it strikes the lure) Anyhow I came across those old files today and thought I would post a few of the better ones just for laughs. Like the following:
The above patent is from 1994. When the fish bites the lure/bait (a frog in this case) its head is caught "in a tongs like action" with the line pressure keeping the fish in the jaws of the device called a "Pointless releasable fish hook". Somehow our local retailers like FMS and GI Joes dont stock these things - we could be missing out? Or perhaps it really works and Im the last to know - a big zipperlip thing maybe?
LOL - anyone want to put a gob of eggs on one of these and go backbounce the Wilson?
I'll try to post a new one every few days.
