Default chum on the kilchis and miami

i was going to be down at tillamook tomorrow and was wondering if they are getting any action on the chums. i have not seen much said. i know this is a bit controversial as some think we should not fish them at all. but other guys are fishing them along with guides. the key is to get them in fast and handle them gently. so anybody willing to divulge any info to a fellow ifisher?

A little too early I think, especially with no rain. It used to be about 2-3 weeks before thanksgiving was the best time in the kilchis. I think it is closed to chum fishing by then though. There are usually still chinook in the river then though as well as a few steelhead.

I'm sure there are some in the bay.
First good rain, they'll be here.

A boat next to us caught one in the Ghost hole saturday with a herring. Hopefully we will get some measurable rain this week. Is Nov. 15th. the cutoff date for fishing chums?

hey all... Just a little heads up here. If you are plannng to fish the Miami, keep a lookout for a couple of younger guys. There will be about 5 to 10 of them, maybe a few more but they are notorious snaggers and they travel in a group. You will know its them if they scream really loud and speak something other than english. They are there most years and they make the fishing go south really fast. If you see them or anyone else for that matter snagging them chum, let them know you mean business. Those are wild fish and they shouldn't be getting harrassed by anyone. Especialy when they are spawning...
Keep it real...
