Default So, what did you get?

With all the sales going on yesterday, I'm just curious what everyone picked up. I was in the market for a 9.5' jig rod. I hit Bimart but they didn't have any rods longer than 8.5'. Went to Joes but none of the rods I was looking at was on sale. I ended up trekking to FMS at OC and got the 9' Northriver 6-10#. Too bad I already have the Convergence 8.5' cause that was a heck of a deal.

How about you?

okuma ef30 reel. It's my first new spinning reel. My other two reels both shimano's were both given to me as cast offs (pun intended) One was a gift from Mark at first cast jigs ( thanks again Mark. Although no jig caught fish, the reel did land me some very nice steelies on eggs). He offered it via ifish. I got my get to know the spin fishing world started pretty darn cheap. Im7 for 59 bucks and free reel. Starting cheap is something I really believe in. Most gear is going to get hammered by beginners. Well by me anyway. Why not learn from my mistakes then when knowing how to take care of gear, step up a notch.

Let's just say that my Christmas shopping for me is done.

Shimano Tekota filled with 25 lb. Ultragreen.

Oh, and a rod to go with it ... Northriver of course (12-25, 8'6").

A pair of waterproof 2-way radios, gloves, Gammi herring rigs, a cool combo bait box and cutting board, etc., etc.

So sick.

I would NEVER post the amount of my tackle purchase at a sale in fear of my wife learning it & having her promptly match every shoe with a purse & belt!

Whoops! Now i'll have to change my moniker!

7'9" backbouncer and a 6500c for me, 2- 7'9" backbouncers, 6501c, 5501c, and oh better not say as my wife sometimes checks out I-fish. I think I need a secret moniker. Mike

Mr heater Buddy for that January sturgeon fishing trip. Another Guide series tackle box, two more scotty rod holders, some salmon bungees, A 100000 candle power spot light for setting the line in the dark, and of course a ugly stick tiger sturgeon rod for my buddie, so he can quit borrowing mine.

Ah the trip to Fisherman's Marine in Oregon City on Friday. I went for an anchor bouy and anchor line and also got an Ambassourdor Reel filled with Tuf line. Bought some good fishing books to read on the blown out days.

Then the trip to three bazzars on Saturday and Mervyns with the wife. That is enough to drive a man to the bar. I can go in and have what I want in minutes. She can spend hours and still not find what she wants. At each bazzar, she bought more craft items then she needs (they will wind up packed away in the garage and forgotten within weeks). No fishing things even seen on Saturday.

Oh well I guess I do it for love (after 43 years) and to get me points for fishing. Oh yes I guess a week ago, I did buy a boat that she keeps reminding me of.

Could wrap it up by saying way too much!!

But I saved about $400.00
