Just thought I would try to see if this goes through,its my frist time.This is sturgeondave,I been reading this site for some time and thought I better join.My interest are fishing for sturgeon the best, which I guided for a few years.Not doing it anymore but love to fish for them still.Just starting to get into fishing salmon with a friend Dan who is a ifisher you may know him being Born to be wild.He sure should me a few tricks which had helped me.Love to crab also, went two weeks ago put in at Hammond Or.boat launch and two hours later two limits.What ever the outdoors has to offer I love to do.Well enough for now, like I said just getting started hope to get better when the nerves settle down.

Dave - glad you finally got out of the lurking mode and joined up. Welcome to the Ifish Community. [img]graemlins/applause.gif[/img]
For those who don't know Dave, I met him several years ago. I was fortunate in booking a sturgeon fishing trip with him when he first started guiding. It was my first time ever to go after these gators. I couldn't believe how many fish we brought to the boat that day, including several keepers. Needless to say, I like many others was hooked myself, followed shortly thereafter by my two sons. As Dave said, he no longer guides, but while he was in the business, he was the best in my book! If you ever have the chance to connect with him for some sturgeon fishing, in his boat or yours, you'll have a great time - he's a lot of fun and has proven on many an occassion that he can bring gators to the boat.

Hello to everyone that welcomed me to the site.Thank you.Not much to give on fishing reports right now but when I get some time off work I should be able to post something.
To answer your guestion on what I used for bait. If you were wanting to know when I went for crab, it was pork ribs.But have used turkey,and chicken when I don't have any fish scrapes.
Hey born to fish,I was getting ready to load the boat when Dan wanted to take a picture that is why I had hip boots on.But yes the BS was getting deep fishing with Dan. Steelheadslayer, Sounds good to me, show me the tricks on steelhead and we will go for sturgeon when it opens,you will love it.
