PLEASE VOTE Above!! WE NEED YOU!!!
Believe it or not, this post took me over an hour to create!
Please help me to make this a success! I really want it to be super this year! I'm so excited about it! Last year was awesome, thanks to a great crew!
Thank you for particpating, and I hope to see you there!
Who What Where Why When....
The Ifish "Christmas for Kids" event will be held at Pietro's Pizza in Milwaukie Oregon, on December 8th, beginning at 5:30 PM, and lasting until we are done collecting toys. (Map below)
Please attend and bring an
unwrapped gift (or gifts!) for the children!
We need a head count, to see if we will be needing a bigger place. Please, with the most accuracy that you can, vote in the poll
IF you are attending. Please, do not vote if you are not attending.
If you "think" you might go, please vote. I'd rather over commit, than under commit!
If you cannot attend, you can call in Visa donations to Jessica at Emmanuel Hospital:

A note from Jessica:
Quote:
The hospital can be a scary place for our kids, we do our best to make our hospital "kid friendly" but it is donations from groups such as yours that enable us to give our kids and their families things to look forwarded to, distractions from the fears that came with their time in the hospital. The job of a child is to play.... our kids deserve to play...your gifts let them do just that!
Thank you so much for your willingness to continue bringing joy to our hospital! -Jessica

Pietro's Pizza has informed me that if you live in the immediate area, you might have coupons delivered to your home that are more valuable than 15% off. Please use those, at your convenience. If you don't live near them, they are offering ifishers a 15 percent off on all pizza orders.

My brother has donated a truck, and we need to estimate how big we will need. This poll will help. The truck is donated by my brother, David Logsdon, who works for USF Reddaway.
The shopping list is included at the bottom of this page. Fishisabonus, Jen, and I will all split 350.00 which was raised by the Salty Dogs, and Corirod, and we will purchase some of the toys on the list.
This is encouraged as a total family event. Kids are very much encouraged to come, and to bring a gift for a less fortunate child, if they want to. It's kind of fun to bring the kids along to shop for the kids at the hospital, and then to come to the Pizza place and see the huge mound of toys!
It is fun to get together with some of your ifish friends, and go in on a bigger present, if you like.
We need an official photographer, who will be responsible for taking pictures, and getting them to ifish on a cd.
Any takers?
Here is a web page on last year's event!
Pete is the head of the Truck-ommittee! Volunteers can contact Pete at
pete@mcube.net . Truck o mittee people help load the truck, and drive over to the Hospital for the delivery. It can be a very "moving" experience. Hogmaster was in charge of it last year, and if you want to know what it's like, ask him! He did a wonderful job of getting everyone together on the task.
Hog says, of the experience:
Quote:
It was EXTREMELY gratifying to do it last year, and I believe some other ifishers should have the opportunity to see how happy Jessica and the other hospital staff are when those toys roll up! It really makes you understand how much impact the gifts are going to have on people who are otherwise having a pretty lousy holiday season.
It is without hesitation that I recommend that anyone volunteer for the delivery. You won't be disappointed!
