Default Lost Oar found and how

A few days ago I made a post about a friend who lost an oar out of his boat between the 5th street ramp and his Cape Mears cabin.

He happily reported to me that it has been found and he is picking it up today.

Although there were no "hits" on ifish, nor from the Tillamook County Herald ad that he placed, his wife figured out a good idea that resulted in the return of the oar.

Her idea? She asked for and got permission to post a flyer in Tillamook Sporting Goods! Sure enough the good samaritan who found the oar saw the flyer and called my friend.

The method may not work for the fellow who lost his rod overboard, but for others of us who may leave something or lose it, just a suggestion that posting notices in the spots fishermen are likely to roam may produce results...

Thanks Marie!

PS - Of course my friend, not nearly as smart as his better half, was wanting to post flyers in radiator shops figuring that the stick had managed to spear some unsuspecting follower. He promises to DOUBLE bungee the oars in the future...

Nice to see that there are honest people out there. It is the right thing to do, I wish there were more people like that out there.
