Default Somebody request an Alsea report? View these!

Sorry my camera and imaging software sucks!

We have been hitting it hard and have produced some exciting catches. Here is a picture of my partner Ted's first Nookie. He actually limited out with a 25lber and an 18lber, both absolutely chromers!

Here is yesterday's catch. We were fishing bobber and eggs off of our friend Robert Kress's boat. It is sure nice to have a partner who is not only a guide but also a fish catching fool!

Yep, and this handsome Beaver-loving son-of-a-gun is yours truly .

Any questions?

Lo

Could just be a funny shadow, but in the picture of the four fish on the dock, is that a seal bite in the bottom one?? Maybe a good story?

Anyway nice fish!

Matt,

Yep, bothe the small one and the other one were munched on! The smallest of the bunch was messed up the worst. He had one side and a gill plate messed up pretty bad.

We were talking to an "experience fisherman" at Drift Creek who told us he was in an all out fight with seal and had to get "nasty" with his fish knocker to get the seal to let go at the side of the boat. This feller was about 75 years old. I asked if he was afraid that he might get turned into the SPCA but he only said that he knock them in the head to if they tried to take his fish. I could tell by the look in his eye he wasn't bsing either. Those senior anglers have seen more strife in their life than I'll probably ever see and he was alive and still realing in the big ones. He had 3 hanging with a combined weight of 102lbs!

Well,
after my second bober-n-eggs outing, I am truly humbled. Fished KosyKove all morning and into the afternoon...one take and no fish. The guide boat next to me had 6 nice large nooks. I know there3 is a lot to learn and I need to learn both the Alsea, and bobber fishin' but it is somewhat disheartening! The guide was helpful and friendly so I have a couple of insights to guide the next adventure...if only.....

Hey WP,

I need to get an Ifish decal so you could hook up with me. There are some tricks to fishing the Alsea that are hard to believe at first (the methods are different than what your prior experiences tell you to do). If you ever see a Olive drab Lowe with a 50hp jet on it call out and id yourself from Ifish and I'll hip you up. I might not have this sled for long my wife wants me to get a Duck or something that we can use (more family with a top and windshield).

Oh well Dave, you would have used a lot more gas tuna fishing! And it sounded like they had about the same results!

Deepslayer, I do not Know any Dave. You're right though they did ahve about the same luck, because they were fishing with me the day they caught these fish. I thought I would drop my friend Kruechief a line to see if he recognised who I was.

Kruechief,
Thanks for the offer! All help is greatly appreciated. I see you are from my local area too! I work weekends so I will not likely see you too much but will keep my eye out for that olive drab lowe...I know about the wife thing, mine wanted a boat that we could water ski with too! Ended up with a 20' Hewescraft searunner...ocean, river, Columbia and lakes...good boat and comfortable (top and stuff!) Black sided with a Honda 130 and kicker...I do have Ifish decals too  I look forward to meeting you soon (and all Ifish folks, thanks Ed for getting me to this group!)

WP,

I saw you. Hey, I work weekends too!
So. no excuse. Also, look for me in the Alumaweld VS with guide stickers (that's Robert Kress's boat). If I change boats I'll let you know.

I am surprised you would consider owning anything with the word "Duck" in it. Too bad your Beavers aren't doing as well as you are. Good job on the fish. It must help the pain.

Nice one! Still love my Beavs

I have been a Steeler fan for 30 years too!

So, my pain is doubled and I just hope for the best. What hurts the most is that BOTH teams are better than they are playing.

You are right though, the DUCK-worth thing might have to be reconsidered  .

You know Custom Welds and Willies do have their good points (like the absense of that four-letter-word

Yours,

Lo
