Where in the $%&^$#@ are those comming from, I sure would like to hear those are local fish that would be enough to get me really excited about fishing local spots instead of some of my Alaska spots.

Safeway, yeah. Must be in the garden section. Those safeway brushlines look familiar. Guess I’ll be at the store this weekend, again.

Re: Amerman/Scheele Slaughter on the water
Thanks all. All these pics are from the last few weeks and are either the Siletz or Nestucca.
Bite Me? What looks old? The fish or the pictures? I did not send these to have them put on the net. I just forwarded them to Jennie as we have been talking about fishing and ethics the last couple days. And she asked if she could put them on the net. I think you were going by the dock the day we took the pic of 5 at Chinook Bend. If you think the fish are old I think some of them may have been 5 years old
Get out there and fish! Got Eggs?

Yes the Siletz is slow. That could change any day but for the last week or so it has been scratch fishing....

dang it all to heck. most of them folks are holding more in a single fish than i catch all year. was i born under a bad fishing moon? is it karma from a previous life coming back on me?
well, most of them fellas look like they got a few decades on me, so there's still time for me to pay my dues, learn my stuff and catch up. i just hope when i get there, there's still fish like that to be caught.

 Hey, that's me in the last photo, on the right! I can attest to those fish being caught on 9/25/02.The only thing remotely old is the gentleman on the left, and he's only 78. He's my dad with his first (and second) chinook ever! I can't wait till next time! Thank you Scott!

Oh, man!!
Now I'm gonna have to re-structure my 401K to last about another 85 years in order to get ahold of that many chinooks in my lifetime at my current rate! :depressed:

Re: Amerman/Scheele Slaughter on the water
I think we need to lobby our Senators for a new law. We could call it the Amerman Act. Anyone who can catch fish like that and does not take everyone by the hand and show them how to do it is banned from acts of public display for a period of one year or three thousand cast which ever comes first.
When I grow up I hope I can catch fish like that. The problem is I am running out of time to grow up.
Nice pictures it is nice to see some one can catch those fish.

Re: Amerman/Scheele Slaughter on the water
Saw them do that on the Nestucca on Tuesday am. Hooked four within 20 minutes. All of them were old and dark and pale on the inside. I caught one the next bush up the same day that looked the same on the outside and was so ugly on the inside it will be crab bait. Nice eggs from her belly though. I am grateful that these guides are taking paying customers out to catch these resident fish and make room for the Chromers.

anniek66,
That is kind of uncalled for dude.
Looks like those guys had the TIME OF THEIR LIFE and we should be happy for them.
I think this goes back to the old saying, "If you can't say something nice don't say anthing at all!"
It just sounds like sour grapes to me.

Re: Amerman/Scheele Slaughter on the water
Hey guys, back off. I am not jealous at all. We had a terrific couple of days fishing and crabbing. Like I said, I am glad those guys are out there catching. Try not to read between the lines and interpret what you don't know. I am not greedy for fishing, 60+ lbs of fish and 5 crabs makes plently of food for my fam. If you don't have anything nice to say.......
