Default Got fishing report?...

Howdy....
Thought I would try again before giving up. I am heading up to Vancouver, WA for a wedding this Wednesday thru Sunday and I plan on using any free time to wet my line. I am very familiar with the NW because I am a recent mover to Arizona from Vancouver. I need to catch some fish but I don't want to wander aimlessly trying to find them salmon. I am planning on fishing Oregon and Southwest WA. How is EC or the Sandy?
How about the Tillamook rivers?
How about the rivers over in WA?
The Lewis, Kalama, Elochaman, Grays, Nasselle?
Any and all information will be appreciated.
I love Ifish and its a pleasure to be able to interact with all of you.

As for my story, I already wrote one on Friday and I only got two replys. One was very informative but c'mon guys... Work with me here. I need info please....

And here is a quick fish story. Fished a stream on the OC and for the sake of the stream, I will keep it secret. Anyway, me and my little brother were fishing a lower hole and the rest of the guys we were with were in the next hole up. One of the guys snaggs a chrome bright fish because he doesn't know how to fish legally. :depressed: But thats another story. Anyways... he fights it and it gets into the fastwater and he loses it. They all clamber down into our hole and tell us about the fight and fish he had just lost. Me and my bro were fishing eggs. They start walking down stream and I get a hit. Chromer on... After 15 or so minutes, I land a beautiful chrome chinook pushing 30. The guy is furious because there in its tail is the hook from his line. That was the only fish caught that day. My little bro also gets a nice jack fishing eggs. We were the only ones who stuck it out and we were the only ones to come home with fish...

I love showing up snaggers....
Well, thats my story for today but I have more... Maybe next time an Alaskan tale that will make you all freak out....

So, can I please get some help now?....
Thanks all and good luck fishing.

Tight lines...

hey fishaholic,

this is just a recap of what i've culled from the active posts. all the info is here and sometimes you have to read between the lines to get it.

cedar creek is stacked up with fish and fishermen. the fish are lockjawed, the fishermen are most likely not. with some luck, you can open the closed and close the opened.

eagle creek is seeing some fish, again lockjawed. i heard from a buddy that the hole at the mouth of the creek changed up with last winter's high flows and may not hold silvers like it used to. i haven't been there yet to check it out.

coastal rivers are still a little on the early side but there are some fish moving in, which means they are all pretty and bright if you can get one.

can't tell you anything about washington rivers. i don't fish 'em and don't keep track of 'em.

There are fish in the Lewis. I have been fishing from Pekin ferry up to the I-5 bridge on the north fork. Yes it is true that most have lock jaw but there are some biters amongst them.

Bobber fishing seems to be picking up in tidewater on the coast. Nehalem to Siletz should have a few good biters.

The Lewis should be pumpin with fish, at least it was a few weeks ago. I imagine the Cow and Kalama are sending home lots of fish as well.

Clackamas & Eagle Creek fish are very stealh and mobile ( what's new ?) again this year. One day they're around, the next they disappear. Low flows continue to hamper sucess and some fish movement.

You already got the Sandy lowdown from ampersat.

Hope this gets you started. Good Luck !

Are you really from Surprise, Az ? That's as original as Boring,Or.....LOL !!!!! Who names these towns ??????

Hello all.... Thanks for the reports. I will give it a shot on Eagle creek for sure and I am planning on hitting the Lewis and Kalama also.
I would love to hit the Trask if not for a fish, just for the drive. No trees here in AZ :depressed: and I miss them Chromers out there in tidewater...

As for the naming of cities, you got me on that one... They must have some geniuses working for the cities...

Tight lines and thanks...

There was fish in the Lewis River but its really slowed down in the last week. Most are getting dark. There are very few fish coming in now for some reason. I think its the netting that has slowed the run down.
