Let's all help fishisabonus find a rod that will be good for her.

Fishisabonus, what will you be fishing for and where?

I just want to thank Travis and family for their effort and quality worksmanship that went into the two custom rods I recently purchased. The two personal rods were for an anniversary gift to myself and hubby. I wanted something special, I also wanted to support the small business communities in our great Pacific NW. I got great service and truly custom built rods,(even though Travis thought my choice of a rather unique color might not be quite what I wanted.....I managed to convince him that BRIGHT is good!).....Thanks again guys, the rods are a true pleasure to use.

I really want my own pole for salmon fishing when I actually get a chance to get a boat ride on the Ocean or the Columbia River.

Travis, I can't seem to see any of the specials on that link. I get everything but a list of rods and prices. Will that be coming?
Thanks,
Bill

If I were you Id probably go with the 8`6``, 8 to 17 lb, 1025, casting model, its a very tough rod and very light, good all around rod, but if thinkin about fishing the the Columbia more, go with the 1026 casting, a little heavier, but very tough. My wife loves the 1025, its not that great for using with a diver on the CR, but I use lead and it work great for that. Just trying to help.

Lynda U might try a 964 or a 966 great heavy backbouncing rods and they work awsome with divers.

Hey Travis do you make a 966 or equivilant in a one piece 9' rod? Thanks in advance.

Wow, what a great deal! I was going to build a kit one of these days, but I think I'd be better to just buy one (or 2..or 3...)!!! Do yo have any 9 1/2', 8-12# spin rods premade, and if so what color wraps? I was thinking black would look good?

Thanks

I don't need any TH rods! So don't even ask. That's because the three steelhead rods you built accounted for a pair of 20lb'ers from BC last week -- photos to come.

Shame your rods last so long and fish so . . . I may not have to buy another one for a long time (car doors and sweepers permitting!)

I gotta crow ... this rod isn't on the Christmas list, but I bet a nice letter to Santa would get one made for you. It's a TH Custom 944c and I think it might be the perfect boat rod for salmon. I've never felt my herring spinning like I have with this rod and when the rod is loaded up with a good fish, it feels like I'm in control. There's enough suppleness in the tip to give great feeling and enough spine to do the grunt work of taming a monster.

Thanks Pete
I agree the 944 is my favorite salmon boat rod!
If you are going to be successful trolling herring in tide water you better be able to tell how yor biat is moving.. I can tell if the bait is spinning or flopping with this rod and that puts more fish in my BOX!

Just an update....
we have sold a ton of rods to ifish members! Thanks
I am expecting a huge push from here on out through the first of the year when we'll jump back to 2004 year prices.

We have been selling lots of 1143 rods, both in spinning and casting.
We had a beautiful purple and metallic gold 1025c go out this AM, very nice, some U of W Husky fan will be very pleased!

I have also just made a very large blank order for some older GL3 and IMX blanks. these are the older mate colored blanks that Loomis sold before the sell to Shimano, all of them are very straight and in excellent condition.
I have (IMX) 1084, 1025 and GL3 1141, 1143 and 1173 blanks available. This may be my last order of these so jump on them quickly they have the GLoomis declas and full warranties
I also have a good selection of Sage flot rods ranging for 9'-12"
shoot me an email if interested and we can work something out! These are pretty rare and I only get a handfull each year

Is a rainshadow as sensitive as a Rogue? Also what would it cost to get a rogue 963 (9'6 6-12) wrapped w/scti guides. Also can you do extended butt sections for bobber rods etc.

they don't sell the matte colored blanks anymore!
That's why they are in such high demand!
They still sell/build them as factory rods!

Ahhh. That clears it up. So you're saying that the GL3 and IMX blanks are now glossed.

I'll try to clear this up for you...
Loomis sells both the IMX and the IMX "Slate"
The IMX rod ( the one I have been referring to as the older matte blanks) is only sold as a factory built rod.
The IMX blank that they sell is called their IMX "Slate" blank. It too is a matte colored blank, but not the "old" or orginal matte that they sell as a factory built rod.

There are still a number of "older" IMX (not slate) blanks out there but they are very spendy.

I hope that helps.

And yes
we have a Rainshadow 9000 blank that is very silimar to the Loomis 9000
shoot me an email and I'll get you some more info!
