My wife let me race over to my favorite little coastal river after work (I was home with the kids, but she came home early). I started out with netting all my neighbors fish, figured it was one of those days....but no!!

Lots of nice bright fishies in.....and big!!

Wet Willy..One came off, the second was a "tule" that we released for other Ifish members that like to keep 'em...

the third was one of the ones I'm holding (that's me in the middle).

Ya know...I keep telling you people to try new spots, and different tactics. With the counts where they are....there are still fish to be had. While alot of you are wimpering about it being slow out there....some of the best days we've had have been in the last week.

I'm going to beat the crowds tomorrow morning, and leave my house at 3am....be walking back to my "secret" spot through the trees at 4am. Gotta sit there for another 1.5 hours until fishing time, but might be my last shot at this river this year. If there's anyone as crazy as I am that want's to go, well, you saw what time I'm leaving!!

Pre-requisites......must be able to put up with crowds of people(most quite friendly, honest), very snaggy conditions, and above all, must be able to NOT SET THE HOOK on any brush-by, slow pull-down, or freight-train slam....these are not bites!!!!!!. Must be able to wait for the slow tap-tap-tap of a trout....might be that 50lb fish!!

Rogue,Well I'm convinced that it must be the hats. I think we had 11 fish to the boat in 3 days, most around 20 LB and all as bright as the 35 pounder. Back to it in the morning.. Gill-nets don't go back in until Wednesday the 25th. Going to fish as hard as we can until then. Wright Angle :grin:

Hogmaster.....I don't need anybody's "secret" spot......I have my own...and too bad for you all....I aint sayin where it is. But...I will add this....It's 21 fish in three trips....including one trip where we had a TRIPLE ...and if you don't know what
THAT is...it's THREE fish on at the same time. And yes....I have witnesses.

The last month has been comprised of days you could only dream of.....

Here's a pic from last Sunday on a "zipperlip" river that everybody's complaing about being real slow.

Glad you got A (meaning one) coho the other day....

Now..If you'll excuse me...I have somewhere between 250-300 pounds of salmon to rinse before I fire up the smoker.
