Steelhead on Steroids!

I normally don't feel the need to talk about my fish or the fish caught by my friends, but today I'll make an exception.

This morning my friend Ron was trolling with two other people at the mouth of the Cowlitz. Just before noon, down goes the rod and the fight was on. When Ron went to net what appeared to be a big, bright Chinook, he almost fell out of the boat after taking a closer look. The fish was a hatchey Steelhead that weighed out at 26.3 llbs!!

Apparently the fish checker at Raineer almost fainted when he took a look at the fish. Good job guys.

By the way, I was drifting the Clackamas today wasting my time and saw NOTHING! Maybe they will show up soon. (I hope!)

I too was on the Clack today, pretty slow but my dad and I managed to find some... definately didn't come easy but we put in the hours and were rewarded...... No #26 steelhead this time though

I am told that Ron has pictures from a digital camera. I will be seeing him today and hope to post pictures this evening. (Of course, I must have my son perform the actual transfer as I am "download challenged").

Another Clearwater B-Run intercepted! I tell ya it's a conspiracy to keep me from breaking the 20 lb barrier. I have to go pout now....
