Default rain! hows the sandy today?

anyone get a look at the color of the sandy today? I brought my fishing stuff to work and am heading out asap. I was wondering if anyone saw the color of the river. Is it high and muddy? I would hate to walk down that hill for nothing.

yep, that's the one. i haven't been on the sandy since it happened because once it cleared, we were into low summer flows and summer steelie season. sorry, i just don't get up that early in the morning much anymore. i've been waiting for the first rains to come through to see how the river holds up. so far, so good. i might finally get my river back for fall coho and chinook. definitely by winter steelie season.

Coho don't seem to mind the dark water. I slaughtered them when the river blew out. Even if it was high and muddy I was catching fish. Orange corkies and yarn, or drifting eggs worked best for me. Also caught a few on red spinners. Brian

just called over to jacks to see how the river is looking. so far, so good. maybe the chocolate hasn't moved down the river yet. it would have to get through marmot dam first though. maybe marmot will give any sediment coming down a chance to settle out before the water gets to the lower river. let's just hope it stays green this fall.
