Default DA BEAVS (NFR)

Lets all think happy thoughts for the continued success of the football program from the greatest university in our state...

the mighty BEAVERS!

Yes, while the beaver may seem a timid semi-aquatic creature one should never underestimate the power of true intellect and perseverance!

Yes, I will be there rooting my alma mater to victory.

Gentleman,
though I wish the little bucked tooth rodents good luck and much success with their season. We need to remember that the team that keeps Oregon on the map is those mighty DUCKS.

I still will give credit where due and the BEAVS are becoming a great team, good job Erikson.

Being a UP Pilot, I only wished someday our Soccer program would some day become football. This provides me an opportunit to be an overall Pac-10 fan and I am truly impressed with our good start this year. Nice win today Beavs. And hey, how bout the Cal Bears? Wheeeeeew.

Heh, heh...
Idaho scored seven points against the ducks and I was in the OSU store downtown when they did it...I got a sign of the cross from the manager when I said I remember when we Beavers considered that a moral victory...
Then came John Robinson...and went...
Heard Temple put up a fight with Miami, too...
Bring it on...

It is yet another GREAT DAY TO BE A BEAVER!!!

After sooooo many years...

Today it was cheering from our section, "Yes, another Beavers Touch Down!!!!!!"

Lots o' fun.

For you die hards - can you imagine someone 10 years ago trying to sell parking in their front lawn for $8 a space?

Too bad the Cougs embarassed the conference. Wetaline - What's your excuse?

Born and Bred Beaver
I grew up in Cornvalley. I was at the game when OSU had it's last winning season in we don't want to think about how many years (OSU 3 - USC 0: OJ Simpson met his match against Earth Quake).
The rally was OSU to the Rose Bowl - but no - they sent the loser team!

GO BEAV's GO

Against UNLV? And you guys are excited? Boy, OSU fans are hard up.
I am still ticked off at Michigan for pulling out of the Oregon game so that all that Oregon has at pre-season is cream puffs.
What I am impressed with is USC at Colorado and Cal at Michigan State.
If the Beavers can get the job done on the 28th at USC then you have a right to get excited.
Until then, spend your Saturdays fishing.

Sandysteel - don't worry, I won't let the game days interfere with fishing. Football isn't even a close second. Besides, I've got TV on board. Win, lose or draw, I'm fishin'.

Doesn't stop me from loving those BEAVERS (the other pink meat.)

Sandy,

Are you trying to say that John Robinson can't put a team together? Isn't that a contradiction when using USC to make your point. I was there baby!

Yesterday, the Beavs flat tore it up. Defense, offense and special teams, read this 47 to 17!

Yep, we beaver fans do get excited, but thats because our brains are not putty from smokin' all that maryge'juana like down south at "BERKELEY NORTH."

You are ruthless, he's out fishing and you probably are as well.

I was rooting for the cougs to wipe out some of that east coast bias. Tale of 2 halves.

creampuffs is right, let see the real games.

No I am not fishing - yet. Later this morning the "Hog Holder" gets her shakedown. Did ya notice that the Red Sled is already gone off the ifish classifieds? Amazing what happens when you offer a quality product at a fair price!

But as far as WSU, I can feel Wetaline's pain. In fact at the game there were folks near us who had gone to Palouse country for last year's game who came away very impressed with Cougar fans. They said they could relate well and didn't mind any Beaver fan, AS LONG AS THEY HATED ducks and huskies!

And SandySteel, well, sure they have tough, "real" games ahead. But they are looking strong any way you try to put it. They are learning and it will pay off down the road. 23-0 and allowing -15 yards total offense for the first quarter. This was not the Girls Scouts. They may not be BCS, but they weren't that bad.

So I will take any Saturady and enjoy the Beavs, thank you very much. Are you too good to watch the quackies play their tough schedule?

my son and I were at the beaver game. We sit in the first row right behind the visitors bench, season tickets. We were told by a couple of guys in row 2 and 3 to sit down ( we would stand and the start of the play to see over the helmets of the unlv players. Needless to say but I will anyway that "We are in row no. 1. look around you, there are 36,000 people standing and 150 people sitting on there butt. It all starts with me, Mr Row No. 1. If I stand you gotta stand and thats just the way it is". I was proud of my son and myself for not getting drawn in. A couple of years ago it would have been a little ugglier. The preseason has been a very big plus this year. Get by the Fresno team and then I'll say they have been tested.

I always wondered what the smell of burning rope was wafting through the student section back when Bill Musgrave was still commanding the field
I don't understand your reference to John Robinson. I was saying that USC (U of spoiled children) looked impressive against Colorado and that when OSU plays them on the 28th in L.A. it will be the real test. If the Beavs can take care of business there then you have the right to get puffed up.

You say "Berkley of the North" like it is a bad thing. You really should instead call Berkley the "Eugene of the South"

alumni U of O
alumni OSU
For which team do I route? Go Ducks!
I sat in the OSU student section and routed for the Ducks when they went to the Rose Bowl in 94. I did it very quietly until close to the end of the game when the Beaver fans/drunken frat boys started to make their way back to their keg filled vans to try to kill the pain of another Duck victory.

I wasn 't even going to read this thread caus it was about beavers or some other non threatening damn building animal..... but then i see Hogmaster is callin me out... so i best say something.... ya the cougs kinda slipped up a few times and ultimately resulted in a loss - but i thought they looked pretty darn good.. and they did play a number 8 ranked team away, not some push over like UI or UNLV....

I am very pleased w/ the pac 10's day, some big wins - especially for cal….. I was actually able to root for EVERYONE in the Pac10 today – cause the Dawgs had a bye  .….. Just whish the cougs could have sealed the deal for a perfect day - but i think you have to admit they look tough - going to be a fun season and i'm looking forward to it.

<font size="2" face="verdana,arial,helv">Right.......they should have known not to play anyone tougher than East Texas State in the first month of the season. Give 'em a break......they played a tough team in front of 100,000+ fans.

The Pac-10 is WIDE open right now. UO, OSU, UW, WSU, USC, and even Cal. look like they could challenge for the title. Better not look past ANY team on your Pac-10 schedule this year.

I'll say one thing about the Ducks.........they've looked very impressive since college football began way back in 1994.

Hey SandySteel

Of course Beaver fans can get excited... Appearently you missed the 1970's and 1980's, and most of the 1990's when ANY beaver victory was cause for a celebration.

From 1989 to 1993 when I went there the goal posts went down at any home game OSU won.

I have Cornhusker Roots, and never got real excited most of the time when they won... they were supposed to (yes I know they got trounsed this weekend by Penn State) win. Ho-Hum. But I still get excited at every OSU victory, Even if it is a "cream puff" school. GO BEAVERS!!!

UG.

I hope someone knocks off Miami so we can meet a Pac-10 team in the Fiesta Bowl!

Sorry about your game Husker. I was rooting for Red but it just didn't happen. At least it's early in the season and there's plenty of time to climb back up.
