1st timer...here.
New guy here,
while i was registering this afternoon, i saw that it is customary to share a fishing story. I have one to share (an oldie-but-goodie)

Re: 1st timer...here.
Dear I-fishers- Eight years ago, I was crappie fishing up north in Washington State--Lake Cassidy--in a small boat with a buddy of mine. It was the first time out fishing together and we commorated the event by sharing cigars and sipping some vodka in a brown paper bag. (On an empty stomach... ) We caught up on old times and boated a few crappie. We decided to clean our catch before the sun went down. I stood up to use the filet knife and promptly fell over the side of the boat. I fell into about 10 feet of peat colored water. Only then did I realize that I had consumed a bit too much of that brown paper bag. I don't exactly remember what happened from that moment on, so the rest of the story is what was told to me by my fishing buddy the next day. I was of course wet and a bit stupid. So, I proceded to strip down to my bare nakids at the boat launch for all to view. Thank God it was not too busy that night. I started rummaging through my buddies truck to find a dry change of clothes. I found a pair of shorts and dressed. The next morning, I woke up and wondered whose clothes I was in!
When you live in a small town, word spreads quick. My buddies close friend is a science teacher at a school two towns away. He told this story to his fifth grade science class. In that class was former wife's sister who immediately thought--hey I know that guy!
Whenever I visit my home town, I am greated with that special "knowing" smile from my friends.
That is my fishing story.

Re: 1st timer...here.
Hey wet net,
Know the lake! my parents owned 10 acres of land right on the lake when I was about 10 years old. Spent a lot of time at that lake fishing off our old dock. Caught perch by the hundreds and crappie as well. Was also good for catfish and bull frogs ( Yum!)
Caught my 1st large mouth there as well. What times we had. As I think back I wish my parents would have kept that place.
Opps got a bit carried away in the past.
Welcome Wet Net !! hope to hear lots of your fishing adventures and Tips in the future

Re: 1st timer...here.
Cassidy is just down the road from here. The water is whiskey colored from the peet. I know where the launch is and pictured that whole scene...then got up off the floor, too funny.

Re: 1st timer...here.
One little detail I left out. Since that incident at Lk. Cassidy, I have never brought alchohal on board. I prefer to remember my fishing time.
