Re: Hogmaster as a boat doctor!
What, Hogmassa was story fodder in his own boat? Hey FNF, it worked for us last Fall. We backed down a bit close to another boat and yanked two nice Chinook out from under their noses in 15 minites! Have faith in Hogmassa!

Re: Hogmaster as a boat doctor!
There is more to this story but I can't tell anymore. I would hate to destroy the reputation of Hogmaster as a Master boat handler When your scraping paint you are too close!

Re: Hogmaster as a boat doctor!
No, FNF, too close is when your bow anchor roller disappears. But that was another impeller story in Pig Daddy's past!
Hog, we're waiting for the story!

Re: Hogmaster as a boat doctor!
Been there done that, not the paint scraping but the reverse shoe install
I changed out my impeller and liner and didnt pay enough attention when I put the shoe on in the dark. Had it backwards. Boat had a definate performance problem Once back on the trailer trying to figure out what the problem was, I see the shoe pointing the wrong way
It can happen to anybody Hog

Re: Hogmaster as a boat doctor!
Hog, it was not me but I think your secert is out. You better get a better class of friends or keep those secrets secret.. Now it is time for the real story to be told written by the master himself.

Squawfishmaster,
I know you can't be that embarrassed to reply to these allegations. Unless there are other witnesses. It was awfully foggy.

Re: Hogmaster as a boat doctor!
Tell the story of how the shoe came off in the first place. Something about the Clackamas?

He's thinking, Steve....he's thinking. The reply should be entertaining, in the usual hogmaster form.

Re: Hogmaster as a boat doctor!
Geez!
Turn my self to a meeting for a little while and look what happens!
FNF, just to be clear, the dock move was made in such a way that your gear would have been left in the honey-hole. Had you not picked your rod up, foolishly thinking it was about to become a four-piecer, you would have had a takedown I am sure. And no one went swimming off the dock either. Well, except for the goose, but she wanted to anyway after she saw you tossing her those pork rinds!
And as far as floatdowns next to hogliners, well, that takes a deft touch. I do not cross their gear, nor do I float over it. They generally enjoy watching a master at work, though last weekend your figeting had them a tad concerned. Heck, I didn't even go between anyone!
My gosh. Me, making a meckaneckanikal error?
In the truest spirit of an impeller turns tale, maybe someday I will tell the tale of how the shoe got put on backwards. It was me following in the footsteps of the great one, oh BOE!
But for now, suffice it to say that serious cavitation can occur above 2500 RPM when the shoe faces the wrong way. Now on the other hand, we cruised in reverse at about 30 knots!
At least it was interesting, and I still haven't killed anybody!

Re: Hogmaster as a boat doctor!
Do not watch In-Fisherman TV anymore. I don't care what Al Lindner says, turning the shoe around does not make for a better backtrolling machine.
Gun Rod Bow did mention something about a new line down the Clack.
Come to the Wind and let Daddy show you how the Springers get sprung. Wu-man is a believer.

Re: Hogmaster as a boat doctor!
Threats from a little squealer do not scare me. Don't make me tell the story about why you are called the little squealer or scooter for short. You have been weighed, you have been measured and you have been found wanting. Next time listen to daddy when I tell you that it is bass akwards. We will put your rod on that side next time you want to play demolition docks. I do know where you live.

Re: Hogmaster as a boat doctor!
Hog, since I am fishing your water this weekend please count me in as a friend and bring yours truly back as we departed plus some scales. Who cares about shoes, highly over rated unless mph is a concern. I will not betray your sins. Yes, a little suck up but I think you are in need.

<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helvetica">Yup, I can hear the wheels turning, all the way up here.
Now, me, I've never put anything back together without ending up with a few extra pieces the first time or two, so I understand your plight.

Re: Hogmaster as a boat doctor!
Well,
I did find an extra shim washer in the driveway last night. I am sure it was one on the bottom though...
NR1. Keep sucking up! It will enhance our Karma. Yeah, if we have a hot shoe we would probably just go somewhere anyway. Spend much more time actually fishing when you're only using the kicker!
If you don't believe me, just ask Redbull. Joby has covered about 3985 miles in the new Motion, yet we are tied for retained springers.
