Default An Introduction and Bonneville Pool Questions

Howdy all!!! I found this page from Bob's and Marty's info. Very nice people/ site. I've made a few posts but not a formal introduction. I live in the middle of Washington (Wenatchee), but travel wherever the fish are. I'm not much on stories, but here's my season summary. I caught my first springer this year on March 18 below Bonnevile (we got 6 that day), man it's cool puttin' a fish on "last years card"! Fished springers at the Wind until the Icicle opened. Had a good season near home, then I fished summer kings on the Upper Columbia from July 16th through the 2nd week of August. It was awesome!!! If someone wants more info feel free to contact me. Then the last 2 weeks of August until last weekend my wife and I fished Astoria with mixed results. Great one weekend, slow the next. Labor Day weekend was awesome though. 16 fish in the net, with the Mrs. gettin a 36 and 2-24's, all being URB's with silvers from 10-14 pounds. Last weekend was OK Sat. (limits of silvers, but no Kings) but Sunday was dead (above the Astoria Bridge). Now, we want to (maybe) stay closer to home, so I was thinkin' about fishin' the Drano area for Kings, but I never have. Any info/techinques would be greatly appreciated!!!!! Maybe the Wind or ever up to the Deschutes?!?!? The fishing around Wenatchee has really heated up this week, but I love to catch 'em closer to the Ocean whenever possible. Sorry for the ramble, good luck to all.

Welcome Snit! Sorry, but I haven't fished in your area in years so can't help. There have been some recent postings re: Drano Lake that I think you can retrieve thru the search feature?
Good luck. GSApe

Thanks for the reply! A search gave a little info. I'll post my results after the weekend.

Well, VERY windy both days. It made trolling for the kings in Columbia difficult. Boat control was almost non-existent. Lots of steelhead were being caught up-in Drano at night. The Mrs. and I concentrated on King fishing. The only ones being caught were by "the jiggers" under the bridge. I guess Sat morning there was a fair "bite" jigging, but we fished most of the day Sat. and Sun morning. Saw 40+ caught, but only a couple "fair" hooked. We left Sun. morning, snagging didn't interest us. On the way home, we fished Vernita for the last 4 hours of the day. A few fish rolling, but no luck. We saw one small boot caught though. The water was VERY low.
