Default Marketing Fishing products

I was wondering if anyone out there has invented, marketed or sold any fishing products or ideas?

I've come up w/ what i feel are some very practical and useful fishing/boating products and after putting it off for several years am ready to make something of it. None of them are capital intensive but would require molds etc for production - which i currently do not have access to.

What steps should one take? or is it best to sell the concept to a larger manufacturer, and what steps would be taken there?...

Your not going to catch them sitting in the living room

Default Re: Marketing Fishing products

We have been in the process of marketing three different products over the past year.

Frustrating can sum up the experience. You must be persistent and believe in your product and never stop selling! You must constantly follow up, supply samples to fisherman and guides and pound on the purchasing agents for the sporting goods dealers.

Our fishing products have been somewhat of a sideline. We have not spent a part of every day trying to get the product in stores. That can and does slow down the process.

One thing that we did was to get one of our products featured in the "New Product News" of Salmon-Trout-Steelheader. This generated some interest and we did land a customer in California. STS magazine however will want you to purchase advertising. We would do it but the economy tightened up and we were not willing to spend the money at the time.

Feel free to contact me and I will help you in any way that we can. Good luck with your inventions!
