Ifishstock 2002 last minute details
Wow... I did a lot today on the bbq party.
First, are you going to help at the Disabled Kids Day at Whiskey Creek? If so, be there around 9. We need volunteers!
I'm trying to decide if I'll fish in the morning till 8 or 8:30, go to Whiskey Creek to help out, then go set up the party stuff.
OK, so there is Kiwanda and Waterdog on the hog. You know, the pigmittee. They will be at the park cooking away most of the day.
Directions to the park and other ifish details are HERE.
I'll have hats and decals for sale at the park starting about, oh, off and on from 2 or so.
Party probably will start gradually. I'd count on a couple people by 4 ish, and the real swing of it getting in gear around dinner time.
There is no fish cleaning station at the park.
There will be crab cookers, and corn cookers, and corn brought by Skein. Thank you, Skein!
I will have pop, hot dogs and buns, ketchup, paper plates, silverware, etc... but can't guarantee enough for all... Please bring your own if it is possible. But, if you are out in the cold and have nothing, please know that we'll take care of you!
Wear coats, and maybe even gloves, or bring them for the kids, at least. It gets cold in the canyon here.
Talked to Jerry Dove on the phone today, he will bring a microphone system, and Crabbait is bringing a generator. (Does that mean I can bring my fancy fish lights and plug them in? )
Hummingbird is bringing oysters wrapped in bacon, but don't count on those... I have them all reserved.
I am still trying to figure out how many will be coming... Please, if you have decided on short notice to go, it would be great, however, not necessary, to let me know by e mailing me here: captain@ifish.net
Pilar and Pilar's mate are fishing up a storm trying to provide us with Tuna and Crab...
I will have prizes prizes prizes to give out, and I can't wait! Fun!
Lessee.... what have I forgotten?
Oh yeah, when you get there, check in with registration for your door prize tickets. Suggested donation is 3 dollars for adults and two for kids. This helps me to pay for the pop, the pig, the park, and various other expenses.
I will have pop in a big cooler for anyone who wants it.
Lesseeeeeee... I think I'll have my kids running the registration. I bought a book for guests to sign, and I'd really appreciate it if you would write your name, even the kids. Everyone that attends!
As I think of things, I'll let you know.
Hey, if it's a last minute deal, and you find yourself bored on Saturday, come on down!
I'll probably be fishing on Sunday.... Anyone else?
Jen

Re: Ifishstock 2002 last minute details
I'm going to bring a hundred ears of corn to go with that roasted pig - oh man, that sounds good! My cooker can handle about 20 ears at once, so if another ifisher could bring a cooker we should be able to boil enough at a time to keep everyone supplied. Email me or post here if you have a crab (corn) cooker you can bring.
Thanks - we sure are looking forward to meeting everyone.

There will be a couple crab cookers for crabs ... if we have a way to clean them and refill them they can be pressed in to double duty.

Re: Ifishstock 2002 last minute details
I'm sorry I'll miss the party on Saturday, as I have plans I can't get out of. Hope you all have a great time and eat some extra for me. I think I will be able to get away on Sunday and I'll be down there fishing. Maybe I'll see a few of you. I have my stickers now and I should have them on the boat. Have lots of fun.

Re: Ifishstock 2002 last minute details
What's everybody doing on sunday? I have to work saturday, but could come down on sunday. I might come down just to meet some poeple. It would be nice to get some fishing in as well. Where will everybody be fishing. I will be banking it unless I can hook up with somebody. Anybody have an open seat on sunday? Brian

Re: Ifishstock 2002 last minute details
Good morning Skein. I will bring an extra large pot, with burner and a bottle of propane, just in case you need it. It will do 20 ears of corn.
See you there.

For those that dont know, ....there are a couple horseshoe pits next to the group area. Somebody will need to bring horseshoes or you will have to toss back and forth Fishbaits shoes    ............preferably with Fishbait still in them

BOE,
I've got a couple of horseshoe sets that I'll bring. One of them is the "lite" version for kids.
See you there.

Re: Ifishstock 2002 last minute details
I have a couple of large stock pots I can bring for corn, but no cooker. I'll have Pilar bring his crab cooker & propane.
We'll also be bringing a HUGE bowl of caesar salad.... complete with smoked tuna bits!
Keep your fingers crossed on the crab. Tide is not very cooperative. We're dragging the kids out of bed at o'dark thirty, so there will be crabs there whether we catch any in the bay or not

Re: Ifishstock 2002 last minute details
As mentioned, Kiwanda Kid and I will be at the park all day. Feel free to come early and check out the pig and swap a few stories if your not fishing or at whiskey creek.
I was looking forward to a first annual ifish midget toss competiton, but since BOE isnt going to make it, I guess that game is out.

Re: Ifishstock 2002 last minute details
You know what?
I think have at least a weeks worth of last minute details...
:depressed:
Back to work.
You know, it would be a lot easier if I just packed these prizes into my car and headed to Alaska.
--and now I hear it might rain? NO!!!!!!!! It can't rain! I hate rain, remember?
If it does rain, what's the alternate plan? You mean that's up to me, too?

Re: Ifishstock 2002 last minute details
According to weather.com, your chance of showers in Tillamook on Sat is only 20%... but I also know how reliable that is.
Anyway, what about everyone who has one, brings an "easy-up"... you know, those canopies?
Piece o' cake!
Holler at me if you need us to bring anything in from town, K?

Re: Ifishstock 2002 last minute details
What drugs do they use for nervous breakdowns?
bring some of those.
No, seriously, I am doing quite well! I have everything boxed and on the backporch.
Companies keep sending things, like little Daiichi sample hooks, so I keep having to open up the prize packs and put one in each bag.... that kind of thing.
Then, I have to cook a pie... Thought about auctioning one off. and... a little sump'thun for Thumper and Sooz. Oh wait, he doesn't share... JUST for Thumper... and... I have to rig up some cheapo rods for the casting contests..
Funny, this backyard bass game? Someone told me it is great flossing practice. Now that is down right disgusting, ok?
Come on down to the ifish party! We'll have you all flossing in no time!
Uhhhh NOT.
Anyway, it's all fun, and do bring rain coats just in case. I keep having visions of carpooling it back over to the hatchery if it gets really nasty. Jerry?
How do you transport a cooking pig?
In all seriousness, this is a heck of a lot of fun and keeps me from worrying about surgery.
SURGERY. OHMYGOSH. SURGERY.
I better get back to those prizes.
Jen

Re: Ifishstock 2002 last minute details
Last minute change of plans. Looks like I'm going to be at the party after all. I'll be alone, but I'll be there.
( I'm Gonna Miss Her When I Get Home ! )
I will be in Nuetrons Camp site because he is unable to use it. Which will net Jennie a donation in his name.
I will be arriving Friday sometime and coming home Sunday some time. I'll be bringing crab pots and my cooker. Not sure where I'll be fishing...T bay, Nahalem? I have seats available so if someones looking for a ride.....speak up!
I'll also be bringing a large batch of both potato and macaroni salad and some good bread. I have an EZ UP that is always in the camper so it will be along.
Can't wait to meet the gang!!
