Default Save our Fish Hatcheries--Now!!!

OK folks this is show time. Lindsey Ball Director of Fish and Wildlife, has come up with a way to save the Hatcheries!!!! He has the support of the ODFW Commission, and the Leg. . He has one big problem and so do we. Our Gov. of the State of Oregon John Kitz. does not like the plan!! Folks now is the time, we have to have 5000 calls to the Gov. office NOW!!! Call, email or letters, but we need it today. If you have called or email do it again. If you have not done it before do it now. Other wise we may not have anycoastal hatcheries. Jerry Dove

Mr. Balls plan is shifting $ around. One thing that helps is the fact that Lic. sales are up, about $500.000. Taking that and some moving of funds, will keep the hatcheries open for the next 9 months. Then we need to set down and look at long term funding. Mr. Ball is going t above and then some to get this problem sloved. The Gov is dragging his feet. Please write him. I do belive the problem may be his natural rescourse adviser Louise Soliday. Hope that helps. NOW E-Mail. Jerry

Jerry just called and left a voice message. I was out running the dogs with Travis of Fins Feathers and Furs , our new ifish sponsor.

THIS IS SERIOUS.

I know that you think that if we ask too many times, it's like crying wolf. But seriously, there is a wolf, and we REALLY need to get on this TODAY.
I'm calling ALL of the guides on the rivers that I know to let them know.
Please, any fishing buddies you know out on the river, they need to know.
ONE BLAST.... Let's fill e mail boxes, let's fill answering machines, we, as a community need to be heard.
If they feel us backing down and getting lazy they'll assume we are losing interest.
WE ARE NOT LOSING INTEREST, right?

Please, as a thank you to Jerry Dove, as a thank you for this community, as a responsible sportsman, let's be heard!!!

I'm putting it up on the front page.
I know you are getting tired of this, and so am I.

Hopefully, they'll get REALLY tired of us not giving in. I'm going to be a pest until I get my way. I want the hatcheries. I want to fish the North Coast. I want to help the economy. I want Oregon to remain the Oregon I have always known and loved.

One interesting note I don't understand.
Why can't we e mail Gov normally? Why a form?
Also.... Peter Green called and said Soliday isn't who we want the mail to go to.

He directed it to himself, saying he is the Natural Resource Advisor. Now, should they be going to Louise, or Peter?

This is important!

Anyone got a direct e mail to who best they should go to?

Lepper,
Would it help to know that I HAVE been making as many calls about schools that I have about the hatcheries? I just don't talk about it here. I talk about it with all my school Mom friends, and we coordinate and call local businesses for donations to keep our school band teacher at our school.
We also call the powers that be and remind them that we are not backing down.

Better get busy.

Jen

I got a reply to my email to Peter Green. We are definitely on their radar screen!

Quote:
Jim: thank you for your thoughtful comments. We're working with Director
Ball -- though I should emphasize that the Legislature has made little
progress toward identifying solutions to the General Fund shortfall that
precipitated the current situation.
<font size="2" face="verdana, arial, helv">Keep it going, folks, we're gonna win this one! If you haven't called or written, please, please do it NOW! If you already have, then thanks, and DO IT AGAIN! Our voices are working - let them know how strongly we feel about this.

Remember - be thoughtful and polite.

It's an easy call to make. Very polite, non-defensive lady on the other end of the line. I just asked her to add my voice to those who were calling to ask that the north coast hatcheries be saved.

CALL! CALL! CALL!
