Amazing that nobody is hitting this fishery anymore this year.

We headed out to go one more round with the "crazy salmon". The bigger coho are definitely waiting outside the river now! We put two large Silvers in the box 17.5# and 17.7#, and released 3 Natives that were considerably bigger... I handled during the release and each one and each was at or over 20#, beautiful fish.

We fished on B2 but I heard on the radio that SW of CR was smoking.

Is this going to be like the spring salmon fishery this year?
I didn't start catching fish untill around june this year... maybe the bigger coho will come late?

Did they look as big as these?

These were from Alaska last month

We landed over 40 fish in two trips, most all the fish were over 15# and a lot around 19-20# range.

a buddy of mine has been going out to the CR bouy and beyond and says there are tons of coho out there. He as taken 16-20 fish each day of the last 3 weekends and has had many more take downs and native realeases. A little rain and we should see a big push of fish. ( it will happen the week after next when I am out of the area and can't fish so be ready the week of the 23rd) :depressed:

I hear they're still getting them out there and they are big, my last report from someone was last Monday and they got all 12 to 16 pound fish. The last time I was out there was about ten days ago and we did well on silvers up to 17 pounds.

But all you guys hoping for a Clackamas and Sandy fishery saying "all we need is a little rain" are probably just wishfull thinking. At this time of year most those fish off the Columbia mouth are stocks from northern Washington, that's why there are so many unclipped silvers caught out there.
