That's been kind of the norm....last 1/3 of the tide has produced well, and that's been posted again, and again, and again.

I was out there today. Played hookey from work but since I own the company I figure I have it coming to me once in a while. Here are the stats...

37 boats (not crowded at all) 5 fish all day :depressed: :depressed:

FISH WIN :depressed:

I have been absolutely cleaning up and my boat did not have a touch. Two guys in our line got one fish each and that was their only strike. Can you say SLOW???

I got there right before the tide turned at 9:30 AM and stayed until 5 PM. The only fish were caught from 3 PM till 3:30 PM. Heck of a nice day on the water though... very low humidity and a nice little breeze. Thats about all I can say that was good for the day. Tried all the old faithful Alvins even some Clancy's, different scents, shorter vs longer leader and dropper. At least I know it was not me because no one else was catching anything either... dont worry though I will find the skunk on my boat and kick his little tail over next time. To tell you the truth I didnt really want to clean a bunch of fish again anyway... yeah right

In the water at 4:00 PM with Thumper assisting. Set up at the line above marker 33, 38' water, Oregon side. Fished a plain Alvin on 5 & 5, and spinner prawn. Nothing. Began to troll with the swing with heavy lead. Caught 20 lb. URB in 22' water, trolling against the new flood tide, on the Washington side, on the Alvin. Rod in the holder, did not look like a bite, rod just twitched several times. Sticky sharp siwash hook, and Alvin doused in "Essense of Salmon" liquid smelly jelly (the pink stuff). I have no idea what enticed the fish to strike excect that we were fishing in the fish, and we covered a lot of bottom in a short period of time. We just found a fish that was in the mood to strike. Lots of fish on finder in 20-25' just after tide swing from ebb to flood. Flat sandy bottom. Trolling up river against the tide. Gear in contact with bottom. Regards, NoLimit

Thanks for the details NoLimit, and glad you and Thumper found some success.

I gave it a go from 1pm-6:40, had myself a nice little spot down below almost everyone. A couple of line bumps had me jumping out of the seat, but no satisfaction.

I do know of two other fish taken by trolling the incoming tonight, guess that was the secret today.
